WEEK TWO

WEEK TWO
30 Guests

You're wrapped in a soothing, all-encompassing darkness.

You've had a good nights sleep, a very good nights sleep, much like the one on Thursday night. No matter where you slept (on a chair, under a bed, in a closet), you wake up in a bed with a stranger—no, you know this person. You just spent the past weekend with them, forced to go through a hell carnival, how could you forget? Your mind is full of fog and sleep calls to you, but it's elusive.

You're at ChΓ’teau Ambregris, brought here against your will by a terrible Witch. So why is it that you're dressed in your old clothes again? Why does your body feel the same as it does when you woke up here a week ago? Maybe this time you won't hit your head. The clocks all gong within minutes, so at least this time it seems, you won't need to wait too long for answers. Though, it seems things aren't exactly as you remember them...

TIME LOOP:
-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

LOCATIONS UPDATED:
-library, workshop
- pool β†’ mud bath, throne room β†’ menagerie
- rose soap and candle details have been updated for villas for clarity

WEEKLY EFFECT
This week's effect is mood weather. Is your character really happy? Rainbows might appear all around them. Sad? Watch out for that raincloud above your head. Having doki's? Flowers might suddenly spring up under their feet. These effects are just suggestions, feel free to riff as you like and make anger lightning of your dreams. Notably, these effects will appear even if your character has a great poker face, but is still inwardly feeling emotions.

This effect, like the weather itself, is intermittent throughout the week.

(OOC: Murder proposals and counter proposals are open! )

...it's hard to figure out the right one. None of them look particularly athletic.

[Don't say that in front of the belles of the ball, Scarlet, that's incredibly rude]

They are the finest ladies we have to offer.

[See, that's how you stealth an insult.

Unfortunately, Lauren the fat capybara seems to have taken a liking to her. She flops down in Andrew's shadow and exposes her tummy.
]

... This one is food-motivated.

[Scarlet has no idea how these rodents are so docile. He had never seen anything even close to these animals...!]

Good. Now the problem is trying to convince that one to move...

Maybe if a bowl is placed beyond the finish line, but then the problem is making sure nobody else gets tempted.

[And she has no idea how they haven't gone extinct. Placid little things are stupid enough to get hurt easily, too.]

What do you think will win? [She gestures from one animal to the next.] Passion or skill?

[The hungriest capybara might run faster than the most athletic... or the strong will subdue the weak, as it so frequently happens.]

Passion. Passion can cover for a lack of skill sometimes.

[...okay, that might be a little optimistic]

[That is sorely optimistic, and maybe she didn't expect that degree of optimism from someone who had recently seemed so suspicious, however rightfully, of potential poisons.]

Someone skilled with no passion has no reason to do well. Do you agree? [Boredom and disadvantages have probably both killed a lot of great men before they could ever be great.]

Exactly. When you're motivated, even if it's just a little bit, you can achieve feats others can't.

Whether they're good things is another thing, but the effectivity is undeniable. Trust me, I have seen that many times before.

[Although of course, if someone of equal skill is just as motivated as you or more, then you're done for, oh well]

Really? [She tries to look a bit interested in the story. Maybe it'll pay off in a victory in the capybara races for one of them.]

What would be a good example of that?

I know this guy who seems to think if you put enough enthusiasm into his work, he's going to do it well. I haven't ever seen him demotivated, and the results are...

[.......]

They're explosive. Literal. I don't think he'd be nearly as good at that if he didn't put his heart into it, even though there's not really that much skill at important things like 'not causing mayhem' or 'not causing collateral damage'.

[Is that even a good example...?]

Is his work... in demolitions, by any chance?

[She turns a little slowly to face him, expression questioning. One would hope that the skill is in not blowing up things that don't need to be detonated.]

That sounds like pyromania. I suppose that's a kind of enthusiasm.
