WEEK TWO
WEEK TWO
30 Guests
You're wrapped in a soothing, all-encompassing darkness.
You've had a good nights sleep, a very good nights sleep, much like the one on Thursday night. No matter where you slept (on a chair, under a bed, in a closet), you wake up in a bed with a stranger—no, you know this person. You just spent the past weekend with them, forced to go through a hell carnival, how could you forget? Your mind is full of fog and sleep calls to you, but it's elusive.
You're at ChΓ’teau Ambregris, brought here against your will by a terrible Witch. So why is it that you're dressed in your old clothes again? Why does your body feel the same as it does when you woke up here a week ago? Maybe this time you won't hit your head. The clocks all gong within minutes, so at least this time it seems, you won't need to wait too long for answers. Though, it seems things aren't exactly as you remember them...
TIME LOOP:
-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.
LOCATIONS UPDATED:
-library, workshop
- pool β mud bath, throne room β menagerie
- rose soap and candle details have been updated for villas for clarity

WEEKLY EFFECT
This week's effect is mood weather. Is your character really happy? Rainbows might appear all around them. Sad? Watch out for that raincloud above your head. Having doki's? Flowers might suddenly spring up under their feet. These effects are just suggestions, feel free to riff as you like and make anger lightning of your dreams. Notably, these effects will appear even if your character has a great poker face, but is still inwardly feeling emotions.
This effect, like the weather itself, is intermittent throughout the week.

[ It is, but at least Siffrin's always weigh to the ground. ]

[ Nowhere to go, nowhere to go back to. ]
no subject
Well, would you stop if you could?
no subject
It gives Siffrin pause, staring hard at the ground, before they shrug. ]
I don't know. Never thought about it before.
no subject
( Easier said than done, of course. He knows as well as anyone that you don't just stop where you're standing - it's not so easy to settle into something and make it a home.
But. But! )
It might be hard to think of this place as anything but somewhere you're passing through. But you can pretend and see how it might feel, right?
( It might not be easy or quick to imagine, especially for someone who's so familiar to living with that weight. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth a try. )
no subject
... You haven't once sat in an inn and thought "I want to stay here." You have with your family members -- you want to stay with them forever. But it isn't possible. Trying to imagine this place...
You guess you can try.)
Siffrin gives it a shot, but the weight doesn't slip so easily. It remains, lingers, clinging to their shoulders and what's left of their heart.
... Half jokingly, ]
Honey, I'm home.
[ Yeah.
That didn't help either. ]
no subject
In any case, while the precise nuance of the dialogue is lost on him, he picks up enough to be delighted by it. )
Is home for you where there's a partner... a family?
( Newlyweds and all the family that entails... That sounds nice. )
I'd be happy to play that role if it helps you envision it, my love, my heart.
( didn't even wait for siffrin to confirm/deny he just wanted to try it, )
no subject
[ ABSOLUTELY NOT. ]
no subject
( He holds up Sapybara by the little arms so he's all chunked up on his hind legs in Hwylryn's lap. Hwylryn wiggles him a little - the very picture of a forlorn child (maybe). )
no subject
However. Siffrin is weak to children, unfortunately, and
truthfully they couldn't abandon anyone they don't hate if they tried. They know what it's like, after all. ]
... I'll stay for him. [ But ONLY!!! Him. ] And I guess so. I want to stay with my family members, even if we're all splitting up at the end of our journey.
[ And then slowly, just like everything else connected to that island
(they'll forget you too.) ]
no subject
But why? Shouldn't family stay together?
no subject
But it's... fine. This is how it should be. How the stories are. Once it's over, they all split, and...)
Siffrin's smile isn't so soft, more just... there, the curve of their eye a cresent as they chuckle. ]
... They all have plans, so... I don't want to stop them from that. I'll probably just tag along, or travel some more. I'll probably end up doing that anyway.
no subject
He wiggles Sapybara's little hand again. )
Well, when that time comes... You could always settle down and start a new family, right?
( "honey i'm home" but make it real )
no subject
Haha, yeah. I guess. Animals make for good company.
no subject
( That seemed like an intentional sidestep to Hwylryn, but who knows. )
no subject
It'd be my third family. [ (if you even had a first you don't even know that do you) ] To be honest, I'm not really interested in losing another.
[ Because
that's what it is, every time. Losing them. To the whims of the Universe, to their own desires, to... what. At least one knows animals die. But they're dependent on you until then; it's sad, but that's how life goes.
People choose to leave. They always will. ]
no subject
... So will you just be lonely until you one day disappear?
( Because, without anyone beside you - to know you, thread with you - then, at some point, you're swallowed up into the days and years, and - in a way - isn't that like just disappearing? )
no subject
[ (But you are now. You had a taste and you want more. You can't live without them.
You don't want to. The years passed without notice before them. The days stretched longer, and yet you could never keep count. The nights were chilly, and...) ]
... Travelers prefer going solo, after all.
[ Not that they sound convincing. ]
no subject
So rarely can one's lips fool their own heart.
( So you can say it to him, but it won't make you feel better. He worries for Siffrin. )
... You've done so much work for your loved ones, but don't forget to think a little of yourself, too. ( And if Siffrin won't speak it, then Hwylryn will, like it might have the persuasion over the earth like a spell: ) ... I hope that, at the end of your journey, it will be full of love for you and yours.
( He'll let Sapybara gently toddle back to its parent... here's a little love for u in the interim. )
no subject
... A huff of laughter, a shake of the head. Yeah, maybe.
(End, end, end. They deserve to be free.
...)
Once the big little guy is back in Siffrin's arms, they'll finally look at Hwylryn. ]
... Got someone to race with? If you win, I'll give you something you want, or... whatever.
[ They aren't so terribly avoidant, now. Hwylryn probably wouldn't follow up such touching words with a bet that would irritate them. ]
no subject
Oh? You must be really confident if you're willing to bet.
( Or maybe Hwylryn is helping add a little levity after a talk with so much gravity. His wish for Siffrin still rings true, even as the chime fades into the wind. )
I don't have a friend yet, but I'm pretty good at making them fast. Wait a sec. Sapybara's gonna have a sibling.
( The family grows...
He will push up and trot off to the animal pen shortly, this being the first time he's befriended land animals, but confident he can befriend any creature with a love for water.
Soon enough, he returns with a capybara who seems the rambunctious sort, for a capy - just sort of crawling up onto his shoulder (or, trying, but not very well). )
I don't know her name yet, but I checked and she's okay if we call her Hapybara for now. Here, say hello.
( Happybara ? He sets her down near Sapy and Siffrin, and she begins to try to climb on them, too, )
no subject
Hi. It's nice to meet you. Make sure you throw the race, okay?
[ Cheating already!!!!!!!! Siffrin!!!!!!!!
Heheh. ]
no subject
It's her first day on this earth, ( hwy-decided lore ) and you're already a poor influence on her. Will you take responsibility if she grows up a rascal?
no subject
[ And indulging them, pressing his face into her fur and cuddling her. Babybabybaby.
But he'll let her go after, so they can set up for the race. Highest roll wins, Siffrin's chucking a pear down the path for Sab's encouragement once they're both set and ready.
Surely this won't cost him a second race this strat has to work sometime, ]
