You awaken smothered in wonderfully soft blankets. If you are lucky, there is a warm body next to you, but... those are becoming shorter and shorter in supply, aren't they?

It's Monday at Château Ambregris, and you have just arrived here. Whatever clothes you are wearing, whatever injuries you are sporting... They are once again accurate to how you were before this tale began. Whether this leaves you with any urgent matters to take care of or relieved of ailing you had contracted in the 'last' week, the gong of the numerous clocks chimes out indifferently to the hour. Gone is the urgent summons of the past two weeks, with no Witch to greet you.

Rise and shine, and face your 'first' day in your 'new' home! And though you may now think yourself quite familiar with it, maybe another look around wouldn't hurt?

TIME LOOP:

-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

WEEKLY EFFECT

This week every character will have a spirit animal that follows them around like a familiar. The choice of animal is up to you (natural or supernatural), but it should represent them in some way. The animal is restricted in size to that of a large dog and is incorporeal, though it can interact with other spirit animals. As the animal is a representation of their heart and inner self, it might be better at expressing itself than it's owner.

Yes, this is basically daemons. This palace clearly needs more animals for emotional support!

[ Blade takes a breath; it is a shuddering one, but one nonetheless.

Finally, he feels something...give. A brightness he can't see coming into light.

Everything can come crashing down at a moment's notice. But, he knows one thing for sure - and that he doesn't want to stop trying.

That...feels like enough, for now. Those fears may always remain, but he needs to try to look past them - acknowledge their reality, while doing what he can with this fact. And not sink to the ground in its wake. ]

I know these are supposed to be connected to us somehow but it feels like my complete opposite.

[ It is unfortunate that he is handling this with grace - at least as far as Angelo is concerned. Others may easily see the strength of Sabo's character in this, but all Angelo can gleam from this is an air of superiority that makes him feel threatened.

This attitude would have always rubbed him the wrong way, but it is hitting him in an especially difficult spot coming hot off the heels of the polaroid episode. ]

And just who is included in that 'everyone'? How free is 'free'?

There may be a meaning behind it, but I'm not proficient in bird knowledge. Maybe there's a book in the library?

[ and as angelo continues to lash out at sabo, he'll continue to stand firm and take everything that's thrown at him with ease. this isn't the first time and it won't be the last time. hell, at least angelo isn't starting this conversation off with profanities. ]

Everyone. [ is what he would like to leave it but if sabo were to be completely honest... ] —well, not including the people who are doing the oppressing, but definitely anyone who finds themselves trapped or caged both in the literal and metaphorical sense.

[ as he addresses angelo's other question, sabo places a hand on his hip with a bit of a huff. the expression on his face softening and becoming more wistful. ]

How free is "free"... I've asked myself that question before and the best answer I have is when you can feel like you are able to fully live without worry. Not just survive, but live.

Oh, I'm sure. How fortunate we all are for his altruism.

[ Moving his hand from his hair to around Blade's back. Normally he only touches someone in order to save them from something, but he supposes he is saving Blade from his fears and doubts. Moving to tuck his head against the side of Blade's so he can talk quietly for his ears only. A moment just between the two of them in a room glowing red from the light.

They can stay like this until the door is unlocked once again.]

Truthfully, I am just going based on a feeling that I have. I don't want to believe that what I received would have happened only once. Especially under our circumstances.

If it were true that there was more of these things out there, then it could be extremely helpful.

[ sabo looks at his own bird who is still resting on the table but now looking up at him. he doesn't really know what to do with that information but it's not...bad. there are more things working up in his head but— ]

He just continues to evolve into an increasingly interesting and frustrating character the more we learn of him. For every bit of positive thing that he "gives" us there is something terrible that comes with it.

[ he's talking about the dark room. ]

That desire is understandable for one who isn't human themselves. Human emotions are unique-- they're quite fascinating to observe. The more intense the emotions, positive or negative, the more interesting they are to watch.

It might be like... he admires humans, so he wants to keep them happy...but he hates humans, so he wants to see them suffer. Or maybe he wants a variety of our emotions. Or both?

[ she had said a couple days ago that it wasn't important to understand ish, but here she is, trying to do just that. though in her eyes, she probably wouldn't give herself even a passing grade. ]

[ Though Angelo is not truly convinced, a bit of tension drops from his shoulders at that amendment on 'everyone'. ]

Then you're at least not a complete fool. The oppressors love to use their 'freedom' to keep the rest of us chained under their feet. We're not free as long as they believe they are.

[Falsch is smacking his script. He needs to be better. He can't just let some aboveground louts take his spotlight. He can't let them take the Deputy Head's spotlight, either.]

[But this isn't Falsch, he knows it. This is Blade. But regardless, he feels his trembling breath start to slow down, the quick heart rate even out.]
