INVESTIGATION III
Investigation
CLANG, CLANG, CLANGCLANGCLANG.
Your early morning begins with the infernal but familiar chime of dozens of grandfather clocks crying out in unison. Or does it? Let's rewind a little!
For those of you on the first floor of the castle the morning may begin just a few seconds earlier and it may sound more like BOOM!! - and who doesn't enjoy the ominous rumble of an explosion as their wake-up call? At least nothing seems to be immediately on fire this time.
Whether it is the boom or the clocks that wake you, you'll find that it is just past 5am and another Friday is upon you. While this may fill you with a sense of trepidation, you might still enjoy taking a quick look out the window. Every single flowering plant in the garden is in full bloom today, despite not even getting to the point of budding during the rest of the week. You don't remember spotting cherry trees out there before, but there they are. There's plum and apple, too, seemingly new saplings you don't remember from last night crowding the palace windows. You can only hope that this is a good omen for all things to come.

He's waking up in the ballroom once again, and he is going to go check the entrance to the mars room (again). Anything interesting or should he move on to find out where the explosion came from??]

Also, can he smell any smoke or what have you from the explosion at any point?]

In the banquet hall, he'll see a few stains of red on the floor, but since he is looking for the explosion, the situation by the chapel doors might be more immediately relevant to him.
Since he is Sousuke Sagara, super soldier, he may pick up on a smokey scent coming through the gaps between doors and floor. ]

Oh okay cool. Uh, he might hear them ramming the kitchen door maybe but he has his own solution to these types of problems!!
He's going to try a forceful kick on the banquet hall entrance door, right by the doorknob. Does it do anything?]

But he'll also find that the door budges a little - the issue seems to be resistance from the inside, rather than a lock. ]

With a kick or two more, he'll be able to squeeze through. Does he want to do that? ]

The inside of the room is smoky and smells of gunpowder, but nothing seems to be actively on fire. The only red he can see is blood on the floor inside...
The organ is still playing its single note, but there is no indication of sound or movement in the room otherwise. ]

He opens a large enough gap to pass through at around the same time the kitchen crew also does. Should he choose to step into the room, he'll find a large trail of blood leading from the north end of the room to the altar. Close to the altar is a hunched over figure. ]
