CLANG, CLANG, CLANGCLANGCLANG.

Your early morning begins with the infernal but familiar chime of dozens of grandfather clocks crying out in unison. Or does it? Let's rewind a little!

For those of you on the first floor of the castle the morning may begin just a few seconds earlier and it may sound more like BOOM!! - and who doesn't enjoy the ominous rumble of an explosion as their wake-up call? At least nothing seems to be immediately on fire this time.

Whether it is the boom or the clocks that wake you, you'll find that it is just past 5am and another Friday is upon you. While this may fill you with a sense of trepidation, you might still enjoy taking a quick look out the window. Every single flowering plant in the garden is in full bloom today, despite not even getting to the point of budding during the rest of the week. You don't remember spotting cherry trees out there before, but there they are. There's plum and apple, too, seemingly new saplings you don't remember from last night crowding the palace windows. You can only hope that this is a good omen for all things to come.

[ Between G'raha, Urianger and An Lili, they'll have the door half-opened soon! The pew inside slides over the floor with each of their ramming efforts, until there is a large enough gap that they can comfortably pass through.

From their vantage point at the kitchen door, they'll see a hunched over figure on the floor close to the altar. ]

[ Doing his best to run in to check on that figure before Lili can!! G'raha is going to try and slip through and get over there.

Whoever it is... hopefully they're alive. ]

[GODS, SOUSUKE. But at least he puts it down.]

'Twas a fear of ours as well, however every entrance hath been blocked. There was no other option but to force our way in.

[ To describe the body as hunched over may have been a simplification - though the figure is curled up, it is also sprawled over onto its right side, limbs ragdolling a little to the sides.

The left shoulder is a mess of flesh and shrapnel, likely owed to whatever is causing the thick gunpowder smoke in the air.

Still, the dark figure can be easily identified. Her manner of dress as black as her beautiful hair. She no longer cuts an elegant figure, laid out in a pool of her own blood, but the memory of her noble presence has yet to fade.

Andrew Grace is dead. ]

[Urianger chokes on a gasp when he sees her.]

[If Lili doesn't fight it, he's going to try to make sure she doesn't take in the sight by shielding her eyes.]

Oh, Andrew...

A...Andrew...?

[ Sorry, Urianger, she can still see at least a peak of Andrew's body before he shields her. ]

No...no, no, no! ANDREW!

[There was an attempt. But it's not as though protecting her from seeing Andrew in this state will make what happened go away.

He closes his eyes and bows his head. He can't help but wonder...if this happened in retaliation.]

[ So some of his worst fears came true, didn't they? G'raha settles on his knees beside her, and maybe he's getting some blood on his pants, but he doesn't really care.

He couldn't protect her.

Words are caught in his throat, and so he doesn't say anything at all. ]

[He clicks his tongue quietly at the sight, although he's otherwise silent. He sees what Urianger is trying to do, so Sousuke will also step in front of the body to try and block Lili's line of sight, but it's more or less a futile effort considering her reaction anyway.]

[ She appreciates it...or, well, she will when she's done having a meltdown over here........ ]

[Urianger keeps close to Lili as G'raha makes his way for the figure, scanning the room to see where the gunpowder smell is coming from.]
