Your early morning begins with the infernal but familiar chime of dozens of grandfather clocks crying out in unison. Or does it? Let's rewind a little!

For those of you on the first floor of the castle the morning may begin just a few seconds earlier and it may sound more like BOOM!! - and who doesn't enjoy the ominous rumble of an explosion as their wake-up call? At least nothing seems to be immediately on fire this time.

Whether it is the boom or the clocks that wake you, you'll find that it is just past 5am and another Friday is upon you. While this may fill you with a sense of trepidation, you might still enjoy taking a quick look out the window. Every single flowering plant in the garden is in full bloom today, despite not even getting to the point of budding during the rest of the week. You don't remember spotting cherry trees out there before, but there they are. There's plum and apple, too, seemingly new saplings you don't remember from last night crowding the palace windows. You can only hope that this is a good omen for all things to come.

First off, do either the coat or the leg look like they have been, uh, chewed on? Like, have the sharks been munching or was the leg a clean cut, what...]

[It is of the utmoist importance to run a joke into the ground every murdergame.

Along with several characters per week, of course.

That aside, both the coat and the leg's stump are pretty tattered -- there's definitely chunks taken out of the coat by something, and it's more evident on the leg that there are bite marks going straight through the cloth of the pants.]

Just for reference, about how much of the leg is left? Where was it, uh, removed?]

[Looks like the leg was severed about midthigh, and it's locked in rigor mortis in a position bent at the knee. He can see that the bottom of the boot also looks damaged by similar bite marks; due to the position of the leg it's roughly lined up with the leg stump.]

[And since we're not about to play "let's stick our hand in a shark tank to see if we can get a comparable bite," I'm going to assume they're consistent with the size one would expect from a shark.

Does the jacket also look like bites or is that impossible to tell?]

[There are varying shark species in the tank, so you wouldn't match these to a Port Jackson shark, for example -- but there are whitetip sharks in there, so good luck to everyone involved if too much time passes and they stick their hand in there.

The jacket looks partially torn and partially sliced through, but if you squint, the triangular chunks taken out could be extrapolated to teeth.]

Time to look at this gangplank. What specific flavor of mess do we have here?]

[I also realized that I didn't specify other stuff they would have found in the fish tank, so let the record show that our dragon friends would have also found a communication crystal and a Begonia suite key at the bottom of the tank. Let's all thank our dragons.

The gangplank is just sort of moistly bloody. It's very diluted blood, but it's definitely blood.]

Does there seem to be any sort of directionality to the blood in the sense that there is more or less of it on either end?]

[Well..... there's a lot more of it on the end by where he found the coat.]

[So we probably came up this way, got it. If there are stairs on that side he's going to take them down to see what else he can see here.

Also to clarify, no footprints or anything looking like a drag trail on the gangplank?]

[It's wet enough up here that prints don't really happen, and neither do any trails that might have existed.

There's only one set of stairs that is also wet and bloody which they probably walked through coming up, though far less so than the gangplank itself.]

[There's indeed more blood on the aquarium floor! Just an extravaganza of blood-tinted water, in fact. It's kind of scattered across the floor in no particular pattern.
