WEEK FOUR
WEEK FOUR
25 Guests
The day is rung in by a myriad clocks tolling at once.
It's a familiar sound. It's the first time you're hearing it.
Once again, Monday is upon you, and once again you have just arrived at the castle to meet your new roommates. The last week is gone without a trace - nothing there to remind you of its existence. Injuries have been replaced with the old aches you may have felt before coming here, keepsakes have vanished and decorations have returned to their original state.
Formally, this is a clean slate and a fresh start. But that's not how it feels in your mind - your bodies may be rewound, but your hearts are steadily continuing, carrying the weight of a time that never was.
As always, the castle is new and old at once. Static, yet ever-changing. The curious minds among you may find it a good idea to explore a little.
TIME LOOP:
-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log unless you wish to have them affected by the weekly effect as early as Monday.
-The state of their bodies is still exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse). This is independent of the weekly effect.
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.
LOCATIONS UPDATED:
- garden, library, promenade
- aquarium → wintering room
- photography studio → tea room

WEEKLY EFFECT
This week the castle's whims have decided to put on a little fashion show! Characters may awaken to find themselves dressed in an outfit that they have once worn... or an outfit that they might have worn, in a future that has never come to pass. These clothes are not period-accurate and instead reflect the characters' own lives and thus worlds! It's time to shine in an outfit you absolutely love - or absolutely loathe!
The drawback is that these magical clothes also cannot be removed until sundown. Whatever outfit you woke up in? You're stuck in it! The only way to escape your dress-up fate is to damage the clothing, but if you do so you'll find yourself stuck naked until the beginning of the next day. The castle's strange properties do at least provide a little cloud of mist that will follow characters around for modesty reasons.
The new clothes will remain after the day of their appearance. They'll lose all strange properties and become garments that can simply be worn or discarded at will, like all other clothing.

(OOC: Counter proposals are open until Tuesday! Murder proposals are closed! Thank you all for your enthusiasm!)

It frustrates him and he still finds himself throwing the same barbs that he knows won't work, because it's all he has. ]
It also doesn't mean that you should care whether or not I do. I'm nothing to you. Aren't you just making yourself feel better, offering something like this nilly-willy?!
no subject
[More harsh words. Maybe that's fine. Angelo has always been a sharp-worded fellow. Honestly, somehow, it makes him feel better. This is what Falsch did, too.]
Do you not want to live, Angelo?
suicidal ideation
... I don't want to die a pointless death. That's all.
[ He had a place to die and Ish took it from him. Going back now makes it feel hollow and wrong. He knows now that even if he returns to holding his corpse, his Captian is no longer there.
So what's that feeling then, when you don't want to die a hollow death but resent living a hollow life as well? ]
no subject
What would be a death that...isn't pointless, then?
no subject
[ Who is already dead and gone. ]
Or burning the whole world down first.
no subject
[Among others here, who he cares about.]
But why the world?

[ The captain had given him a purpose greater than just that, but... He's back where he started and if there's one thing that this place has done, it's remind him of that relentlessly. ]
All the filth that's been poured into me over the course of my existence in that rotten place... I need it gone. I need to purge every last bit of it.
no subject
[It doesn't make sense to him.]
Wouldn't that be allowing your...filth to spread, then? Instead of purging it. If filth means...what I think it means.
no subject
[ Stalling the question with a question of his own - though he's not entirely certain he wants to hear the answer either. ]
no subject
...I know I would feel....worse.
no subject
[ Angelo exhales, very slowly and measuredly. ]
I used to know as much. I used to be at rock bottom until the captain lifted me from my despair and purified me. And now...
[ Now he's gone and all the dirt is reappearing, crawling over Angelo without mercy. He doesn't know why he's even telling Sariel all this. Maybe it's just that he doesn't have anything left to lose by saying it out loud. ]
no subject
[A light question. A confirmation. Almost curious.]
I feel that they do. I do, too. Your captain isn't...the only one.
no subject
And Sariel... ]
Is there anybody you don't care about?
[ 'You even care about ants.' ]
no subject
I don't like Hickey that much.
[#HONEST]
no subject
You don't even dislike him. You just don't like him 'that much'.
[ WE NEED TO GET YOU A CRASH COURSE IN HATING??? ]
no subject
[what is hating can you eat it]
no subject
[ This conversation is wildly flipflopping between airing out his deepest most foundational negative emotions, and also marveling that Sariel is a real person who somehow exists. Like, seriously. How. ]
How's it that he got under your skin and nobody else did? We had plenty of murder here.
cw: cannibalism mention
[sometimes you are a beautiful fallen angel and you were built with Issues]
He also ate someone. He said it was a last resort but now I'm not so sure.
