EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

🔮 Universal Communication will be possible, courtesy of Manba and Ish. Everyone who wants one will be given a small fox that can communicate with other foxes through voice and video; the foxes can talk and are fairly simple creatures, enjoy them and give them fried tofu once in a while.
🔮 Powers are on for the finale, but Ish will step in and yeet anyone who gets too out of hand back to their homeworld, so play nice! (or relatively nice. )

Something different. They are more like ... the grief and curses of the world, given shape.

[ loud shrugging. she's actually not sure what they are, and it's not like any sources she could ask about them are likely to be reliable. this is the best she's got. ]

[ Blade...doesn't quite have that much faith in himself when it comes to his own will in resisting his own condition - as much as Dan Heng does, anyway. It's gotten actually better than in the beginning of this, because there has been an inevitable increase in how he's able to tell that he can make decent choices, even where he is at now. That he can improve, even if the mere thought of it is actually frightening (since...what if he slides back? Or...)

And, at the same time, it isn't so long ago when even a low number of days ago he had tried to kill Dan Heng with his own hands. But, despite those complex emotions - there's more good than bad; his memories of providing resistance when he could against that madness, are not to be forgotten.

As well as realization that Dan Heng trusts him that much. Blade has to continue to ensure he's worthy of that trust, of the love he's granted him; to treat him as someone who deserves the best of him. So, hearing his decision, he breathes out, saying softly: ]

...It's appreciated.

[ Blade's placing a good deal of trust in this indeed - and he knows, should there need to be a quick departure, that it won't be impossible. That being said, he will also give Dan Heng's hand another squeeze. ]

Let's take a walk. We're going to leave this place...exploring through the rooms one last time won't hurt.

[ Of course, it's an excuse for them to have more private time for just the two of them - without the gaze of others upon them. Though the memories provide sentimental value. ]

That's generous of you. Are you hiding?

[ It's fine, appreciation is totally valid here - we are in the no judgment zone.

Speaking of which, he's a quieter person, but if he were not, here he'd clear his throat. As it is, there's something like a long pause, because it's something that is getting him Sentimental and a little embarrassed, but he takes it in stride. ]

...Glad to hear it. I'm...fortunate.

That he wishes to be by my side. [ Even after everything between them. ] He means everything to me.

You really mean it? We can have more?

( Honestly, he's pretty happy with just Junior right now... but it's so sweet Ish just goes along with whatever insane thing he says... )

[ Yeah, the other thread's projected well enough he isn't getting rejected. ]

Yeah. Raha says he won't reprimand me if I tell him where I'm at, but I think he'll have worse planned. Like pinching my cheeks. And if he finds me, then this game ends.

[ Since there is No Way G'raha is letting Siffrin continue the fun he's having right now. ]

You don't want to share me, but you've been neglecting me to go talk to other people? ( narrator: it's probably only been like ten minutes since he last saw ish ) What's the truth, hmmmm?

Then I wish you luck on remaining hidden, hard as it must be to be apart. It'll make your reunion that much sweeter... and your cheeks so much more pinched.

[ Ohhhhh Blade... Siffrin is also a quiet person, so there's a moment where there's a silent nod. ]

... Yeah. I'm... lucky too. Raha... has a lot of important people, [ and one person in particular above all else, which still claws at Siffrin's chest so deeply it leaves wounds no time loop can reset, ] but he'd still like to be with me. It's nice.

[ "It's nice."

(All you can say, unfair as it all is. Unfair to Raha, to Andrew. But you're so greedy. You're happy. There's few others who can understand what they're all bound by now, and that makes you so, so incredibly--) ]

I'm happy to be his.

...It certainly is.

[ "It is what it is..." truly the most apt way to put it. There's not a whole lot he can do about it right now, and if he were to reverse it somehow in some way, that would open a whole other can of worms (a divorce arc).

But it's nothing new to him, nothing he hasn't experienced before, and this time he isn't alone in it like he was back then.

That, at least, counts for something. Or so he hopes. ]

My fear is that I will face high levels of exhaustion again. 'Tis what occurred last time. I felt the tiredness settle deep in my bones and into my very soul. It wasn't until I was brought back into this younger body of mine and in tandem with my younger soul that I was able to allow some of that weariness to fade away.
