You're wrapped in a soothing, all-encompassing darkness.

You've had a good nights sleep, a very good nights sleep, much like the one on Thursday night. No matter where you slept (on a chair, under a bed, in a closet), you wake up in a bed with a stranger—no, you know this person. You just spent the past weekend with them, forced to go through a hell carnival, how could you forget? Your mind is full of fog and sleep calls to you, but it's elusive.

You're at Château Ambregris, brought here against your will by a terrible Witch. So why is it that you're dressed in your old clothes again? Why does your body feel the same as it does when you woke up here a week ago? Maybe this time you won't hit your head. The clocks all gong within minutes, so at least this time it seems, you won't need to wait too long for answers. Though, it seems things aren't exactly as you remember them...

TIME LOOP:

-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

LOCATIONS UPDATED:
-library, workshop
- pool → mud bath, throne room → menagerie
- rose soap and candle details have been updated for villas for clarity

WEEKLY EFFECT

This week's effect is mood weather. Is your character really happy? Rainbows might appear all around them. Sad? Watch out for that raincloud above your head. Having doki's? Flowers might suddenly spring up under their feet. These effects are just suggestions, feel free to riff as you like and make anger lightning of your dreams. Notably, these effects will appear even if your character has a great poker face, but is still inwardly feeling emotions.

This effect, like the weather itself, is intermittent throughout the week.

[ ayaka is usually a gloomy person. rain, snow, and clouds have been her constant since this stupid effect began.

but in the menagerie, her eyes are bright with an almost innocent joy. she might be found sitting down on the ground with a capybara napping on her lap, running her fingers through its fur. ]

You’re so warm and relaxed… hehe, it’s like petting a broom.

[ it is surprisingly warm and sunny above her. ]

[ his little raincloud with its light drizzle follows him, so he doesn't stand too close. probably good manners not to rain on a tomo ]

[ she stops petting the critter as she looks at it in the eyes. it looks back for a few seconds, before returning to its adventures in sleeping. ]

I didn’t think of one. I mean, it’s not my pet…

[ she looks at yoru and his little rain cloud. ]

[ he picks one of the decorative rocks as his seat rather than the ground. mud on butt, no thanks… ]

People name strays all the time, don’t they? Maybe it can be Epee to match Saber?

That might just inflate his ego too much.

[ listen, she does care about saber, but the last thing she wants is for him to get a head of hot air because she named an animal after him. ]

Besides, it's not thin or sleek... this is more...round? [ hmm... ] How about Maruko?

That's cute... If it has a friend, you can name it Batsu-kun.

I think simple names can be... nice.

Simple names are pretty good, I agree. Yoru... it does fit you, I think. Maybe.

[ maybe that's silly to say? it's not like she knows that much about names. ]

I chose it, so um, I'm glad you think so. Ayaka sounds really nice, too.

[ though the latter is said a bit more hesitantly because he knows a little of her history. he doesn't want her name to be associate with a sad memory, but what if... it is? ]

[ a sad memory it is attached to indeed. ayaka blinks, her hand stopping for a moment before continuing. but it seems like the animal therapy is working, because her mood doesn't darken as much as usual. ]

Honestly, I...only took this name because it's the one that matches the person I look like. Sometimes I feel like I stole it from her. Though I'm not sure if that's right.

But... You're the only Ayaka I know, and...

[ he'd watched the way she brightened around these animals. he doesn't know if the original person would have behaved the same. he doesn't know, and it doesn't matter to him. ]

I've never met the person you look like. So to me, your name is unique to you.

[ that other girl will never be the ayaka that yoru knows... is what he's trying to clumsily explain. ]

[ there's just something weirdly sweet about the capybaras and turtles, so despite her less happy thoughts, she can't help but dote on them. ]

Just looking at them sleeping is kinda making me wanna nap.

[ she's smiling. as she runs her hands through the warm, coarse fur, her chest feels far lighter than it has been since arriving in this godforsaken castle. ]

I can't really bring myself to make them work out. I mean, it looks so comfortable like this. Did you find one too, Clover?

[ She gestures towards the direction of a turtle snoozing nearby under some shade. ]

Yeah, I nicknamed him Lord Tortellini. He was nice enough to try to race a few times, but he's got the right idea. Chilling is more fun.

[ Anyway, she's gonna get distracted by the sheer cuteness of the capybara here. ]

And I think this one's mastered the art of comfiness!

[ ayaka's head turns towards the turtle, impressed by just how chilled out it was. and what was the name? lord tortellini? it draws out a rare laugh from her. ]

Yours is pretty good at taking naps. I guess they're just not meant to be pro athletes.

I also don't mind doing the opposite of what Ish wants. He should work them out himself, if he wants it done that bad.

[ the comfy capy...so sweet and bristly... anyway, distractions aside—clover nods at that, thinking of all the animals around that just wanna chill peacefully around. ]

Yeah, these pro cuties deserve all the treats and naps they want! If they want exercise, they can go chase Ish.

I can't blame them for not wanting to. I'd rather stay as far away from him as possible.

[ he's loud, obnoxious, and annoying. christ, ayaka would love nothing more than to stay far away from him at all times. ]

Oh, yeah, good point. [ they definitely shouldn't have to be in his stupid clown presence if they don't wanna. absolutely valid.

anyway that question makes her sigh and slump her shoulders. it's something she wants to know, really. ]

...Not doing as great as these guys, buuuut I guess I'm pretty well-distracted right now. A better kind of distracted at least.

[ it's hard to for ayaka to admit that she's not doing well, even though it's usually pretty evident in her meek personality. ]

It's odd, though. It almost feels like I'm getting used to this place and the people in it. Though I can't decide if that's good or bad yet.

I dunno either. And not sure I wanna know the answer to that, actually.

[ she crouches down to sit, not very ladylike in the way she plops down to the floor. ]

Guess I'm more of a fraidy-cat than I thought?

They are so relaxed that I wonder why he insisted on us exercising them as opposed to any of the other creatures here...

[ the painted turtle hanging out near her is placidly chewing on some lettuce. it is chillin. it does not, in any way, shape, or form, look like it's suffering from a lack of enrichment. ]

He probably thought that we'd have a hard time training them or something.

[ which like, as she looks at the capybara snoozing away, she can understand where he's coming from. it's absolutely ridiculous, but so is he. ]

But I don't think they need it. They're cute just the way they are, in my opinion.

I imagine that the only real way to get them to cross any form of finish line is to lay out a trail of food for them to follow.

[ not exactly a thrilling race, but what can you do. ]

[ she looks at the capybara sleeping on her.

[ what a bizarre way to say that she's fine with it?

she slides out from under the capybara with some trouble, and the oversized rodent rouses from its sleep for two seconds before closing its eyes again. ]

Ah, we should go find some food if you don't have any more of that lettuce.
