You're wrapped in a soothing, all-encompassing darkness.

You've had a good nights sleep, a very good nights sleep, much like the one on Thursday night. No matter where you slept (on a chair, under a bed, in a closet), you wake up in a bed with a stranger—no, you know this person. You just spent the past weekend with them, forced to go through a hell carnival, how could you forget? Your mind is full of fog and sleep calls to you, but it's elusive.

You're at Château Ambregris, brought here against your will by a terrible Witch. So why is it that you're dressed in your old clothes again? Why does your body feel the same as it does when you woke up here a week ago? Maybe this time you won't hit your head. The clocks all gong within minutes, so at least this time it seems, you won't need to wait too long for answers. Though, it seems things aren't exactly as you remember them...

TIME LOOP:

-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

LOCATIONS UPDATED:
-library, workshop
- pool → mud bath, throne room → menagerie
- rose soap and candle details have been updated for villas for clarity

WEEKLY EFFECT

This week's effect is mood weather. Is your character really happy? Rainbows might appear all around them. Sad? Watch out for that raincloud above your head. Having doki's? Flowers might suddenly spring up under their feet. These effects are just suggestions, feel free to riff as you like and make anger lightning of your dreams. Notably, these effects will appear even if your character has a great poker face, but is still inwardly feeling emotions.

This effect, like the weather itself, is intermittent throughout the week.

[ throughout most of the day, ayaka can be seen in the menagerie, looking at the animals. she's already befriended one capybara, but there's far more to see-- many that she has never seen outside of tv shows herself. there's chipper beat in her step as she walks through the places, even sometimes reaching out to pet the animals. ]

Huh, these are softer than I imagined...

[ though it's in the aviary section that she pauses, looking around, impressed that a castle could have such a thing, even if it's likely magic. ]

[ in the evening, however, she's at the mars room. her dislike for weapons aside, she figures that she might as well learn how to use one of these things.

the thing is that she's not sure where to even start. staring at the swords, she thinks of saber, but she's not sure if she could wield something so bulky. nonetheless, she pulls out an épée, looking at it with a perplexed expression for a few seconds before trying a swing. and then another. and another. it's not good swordsmanship in any way, but hey, she sure is fucking trying. ]

[ Ah, guess who else is here with a dislike of weapons? Lili pauses at the door, but she sees Ayaka trying her best to figure how to wield a sword...and decides to approach. Mood, girl. ]

Ayaka? [ She'll announce her presence first, so as to not startle the other girl, then: ] ... Are you trying to get acquainted with the sword?

[ thank you lili for not startling her! ayaka quickly lowers the sword in her hand, nodding. ]

Yeah… with everything that’s happening… I don’t know, I feel like I should be learning how to defend myself. [ but she gestures at the rest of the weaponry. ] I couldn’t tell you how to even start using most of this, though.

[ She looks away for a second. ]

I don't think that's a bad idea. [ Then back to Ayaka: ] I'm not much help...but I've been wondering if there are reading materials on this sort of thing. Something that could break it down for people like us.

[ she tilts her head to the side, her expression one of genuine thought. ]

The library, maybe? Usually people put up video tutorials of this sort of thing, but this castle seems pretty out dated…

[ maybe she’d have an easier time with a youtube video but beggars can’t be choosers. even though she’s not begging at all. ]

Honestly in times like this I feel that Saber—sorry, Richard, would say that we just have to practice and follow our heart or something stupid like that.

[ she huffs and shakes her head. as if she could compare with a natural reckless genius like him. ]

[Caroline’s been spending a not insignificant amount of time in here; something to be said for the therapeutic value of animals, perhaps.

She catches Ayaka at the aviary, looking at the birds in wonder.]

Cool, aren’t they? Even I have to admit - the world can be pretty fucking impressive sometimes.

It is. I don’t think I’ve seen so many different birds in the same place.

[ things like random city birds, sure. but these include birds that would never be found in fuyuki or any of the other large cities she ran to, so she’s still impressed. ]

It must be nice… getting to live here without any predators possibly coming after you.

Yeah, it’s like a little sanctuary.

[That’s a little sentimental, but don’t worry-]

Not so much for us. But you know. Good for them.

Good for them.

[ she nods in agreement. ]

I wonder if Ish takes care of them? Or maybe he's using magic, somehow. Although it's a little sad to think that they don't know what's happening.

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

[Oh, to be an unaware little bird…]

Part of me wonders if they’re even real, or just some more of Ish’s magic.

If he's powerful enough to rewind time then... maybe? But they feel so real...

[ real to them, at least. maybe no one has noticed because he's the only one with their powers. ]

But if that's the case, why make it? Is it for us? That doesn't sound right.

…No, you’re right, it doesn’t.

[She sighs.]

Another great mystery of this place, I guess.

[She doesn’t sound particularly excited about it.]

[He periodically visits the Mars Room given his propensity for carrying weapons, but he can't exactly miss Ayaka clumsily swinging around that épée. It's not a weapon he's familiar with, but even his untrained eye can see that she's wielding something she isn't used to.]

You're training?

Trying to.

[ though as soon as sousuke speaks up, she quickly brings down the sword. ]

Not getting too far, as you can see.

[Even as she lowers the sword, he looks at it with a hint of interest, like he's sizing it up.]

It seems like a difficult weapon to use. A knife would be much easier.

Just... a knife?

Affirmative. Its range is shorter, but it would be lighter, and easier to control compared than that sword.

All I really know how to use a knife for is for cutting food.

[ well, he’s probably right. she was never going to use this sword in the first place. giving up, she sets it back down where she found it. ]

You know a lot about weapons, don’t you? How come?

[It probably is for the best; an amateur swinging around a weapon they didn't know how to use was dangerous not only to bystanders, but to themselves.

As for Ayaka's question...]

[ He honestly just keeps going like she doesn't turn red, clearly not noticing or caring that she's embarrassed. ]

Besides, I would have thought that you would have wanted to be King Arthur instead. Though I don't know the first or second thing about magic either.

Of course not. But if you don't think you're worthy of pretending to be King Arthur, then I'm probably not worthy of even pretending to be who she was before she became King.
