You're wrapped in a soothing, all-encompassing darkness.

You've had a good nights sleep, a very good nights sleep, much like the one on Thursday night. No matter where you slept (on a chair, under a bed, in a closet), you wake up in a bed with a stranger—no, you know this person. You just spent the past weekend with them, forced to go through a hell carnival, how could you forget? Your mind is full of fog and sleep calls to you, but it's elusive.

You're at Château Ambregris, brought here against your will by a terrible Witch. So why is it that you're dressed in your old clothes again? Why does your body feel the same as it does when you woke up here a week ago? Maybe this time you won't hit your head. The clocks all gong within minutes, so at least this time it seems, you won't need to wait too long for answers. Though, it seems things aren't exactly as you remember them...

TIME LOOP:

-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

LOCATIONS UPDATED:
-library, workshop
- pool → mud bath, throne room → menagerie
- rose soap and candle details have been updated for villas for clarity

WEEKLY EFFECT

This week's effect is mood weather. Is your character really happy? Rainbows might appear all around them. Sad? Watch out for that raincloud above your head. Having doki's? Flowers might suddenly spring up under their feet. These effects are just suggestions, feel free to riff as you like and make anger lightning of your dreams. Notably, these effects will appear even if your character has a great poker face, but is still inwardly feeling emotions.

This effect, like the weather itself, is intermittent throughout the week.

Did you want a kiss on the cheek, then? Or on your hair?

Ahaha, am I allowed to pick? That's rather dangerous, don't you think?

[ Cain chuckles. ]

Anything more than that, though, isn't going to be free.

You drive a hard bargain.

[He sounds more amused than anything else, though.]

And here I am with so little to offer that isn't something you can already find for free in this place...

But everyone here has something worth value. Whether they want to give it up or not is another question.

[Another laugh-- he needed this sort of enrichment in his enclosure, honestly.]

What a romantic sentiment. If you aren't careful, you may wind up stealing someone's heart with lines like that.

[ The smile remains sitting on Cain's face at that. He knows. He'll never acknowledge it, though.

So he doesn't! ]

Well?

[ One thing he's not a fan of: talking in circles. What do you want, Vanis?! ]

[Too bad Vanis is a master of talking in circles! But he's also here for a reason, and so:]

Name your price.

[Did the tone of his voice drop just slightly down to something playfully heated? Maybe.]

[ And too bad Cain's wife loves circle talking...

Cain leans forward, mirroring Vanis. The striking gold of his one visible eye pierces his; he's quiet for the briefest of moments as he studies him.

And then, his smile vanishes.

So too does his voice drop, but his is cold in contrast. ]

I want information on Ish.

[Ah. A business deal. Somehow Vanis isn't even surprised by this, and from the way his smile curves into something just a bit more conspiratorial, he's not displeased by this turn of events, either.]

You should have said that from the start, you know. That's a price I'm more than happy to pay.

[ Cain's grin comes back, how boyish and cheerful he looks, despite the whole situation.

He wasn't knight captain for nothing, it turns out. ]

Payment up front, unfortunately.

[A nod. They're on the same page here-- just as Cain wasn't a knight captain for nothing, Vanis isn't an information broker for nothing, either.]

And just as unfortunately, he's quite difficult to work with. I'd thought we'd made a deal, only to have him not hold up his end of it.

[Well. He sort of did, but not in the way Vanis had had in mind...]
