TRIAL II

Trial

At least this time you were given ample time to wreck your sleep schedule before the clocks gong at midnight (no apologies for such little sleep in the first place withstanding). The carnival looks just as you remember it, with the banquet and drinks refreshed. The spread is the same as before with two new additions: a platter of cute cupcakes that might remind you of someone, along with baozi of all types.

Like before, mind the pit in the middle and settle in to vote out the guilty party for the death of Siobhan "Shiv" Roy. With the benefit of experience, maybe this will be a little bit easier? With the mood weather lifted, there won't be any floods at trial at least.

(( OOC: Welcome to your first trial! You'll have 7 hours (until 8 PM EDT/5 PM PDT) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. As this is scapegoat style, a correct vote is not necessary. Please remember to vote unless otherwise discussed with the mods, as that is our AC for this game ))

Slitting her throat would be bloodier and would make clean up more difficult.

[As for the speculation she was mostly dead...]

There was a pool of blood underneath her that could have come from the abdomen. You could be correct about that point.

Considering the other damage in the area like the hedges, the killer might not have cared too much about if they got hit with blood. Without the fire in the library, everyone else might have remained asleep until morning which would have been more than enough time to clean up.

Checking for it now would be unlikely to reveal anything, unless they are particularly sloppy, since we've had the entire day to rest... but given that we did awaken early, I don't suppose anyone was seen to be particularly disheveled or bloodied in the moments after awakening?

I only really remember that we were all trying to run away from the library... it was hectic.

... If nothing else comes up, then we end up circling around to the theory that it was someone in the library with Siobhan once more, don't we.

[ though this then makes the fire like. what. accidentally shooting themselves in the foot, if we go by Break's idea that the killer thought they'd have more time to clean up, but also saving their asses with the distraction it provided? ]

Mm, it does sound possible. [ she nods. ] Honestly, 11 people in a library that small can still feel a little crowded.

[If it all really did start with someone in the library... there are still loose ends to tie up and theories that no longer make sense, as far as she's concerned.

She leans down to whisper closer to Ayaka's ear.
]

Siffrin suggested the debris was a trap, but what led to the handle of that door being ripped off in the first place? I highly doubt lighting from anyone's anger could have been so intentionally concentrated just on the doors.

And... if Siobhan ran straight from someone in the library or banquet hall, why were the solarium doors thrown open?

[ALL OF HER QUESTIONS ARE DOOR RELATED.]

[ ayaka listens closely, her expression focused. they really have been losing a lot of time here, haven't they?

once andrew's done, she nods. ]

I'll do my best to gather everyone. Can't promise anything though.

[ i mean, look at them. ]

Want me to smash something to get their attention?

[Siobhan deserves a little more attention, she thinks...

Even if she was the one in the wrong.

I only stayed long enough to make sure everyone got out. I didn't notice blood, but it would have been easy to miss.

From the evidence, it seems she struggled with her attacker quite a bit. It wouldn't be strange for them to damage the hedges, and leaves are less incriminating than being found with bloodied clothing.
