At least this time you were given ample time to wreck your sleep schedule before the clocks gong at midnight (no apologies for such little sleep in the first place withstanding). The carnival looks just as you remember it, with the banquet and drinks refreshed. The spread is the same as before with two new additions: a platter of cute cupcakes that might remind you of someone, along with baozi of all types.

Like before, mind the pit in the middle and settle in to vote out the guilty party for the death of Siobhan "Shiv" Roy. With the benefit of experience, maybe this will be a little bit easier? With the mood weather lifted, there won't be any floods at trial at least.

Siffrin was found with a recent injury on their arm. He claimed this was because of an altercation with Cain. But Cain stated that he didn't know where he grabbed Siffrin, so he can't corroborate that injury. Siffrin also attacked him with a dagger.

Siobhan Roy's cause of death was a precise stab to the heart, with a dagger. There was a struggle in the hedge maze and it's likely that the culprit didn't escape unscathed. There was also dirt in Siffrin's hair, which remains unexplained.

Nothing is decisive, but at some point the circumstantial evidence is too much to brush aside.

This could be settled if we could at least do a cursory comparison between the dagger and the wound on the body, but...I guess we won't get to have that bit of certainty.

Would we need that? The murder weapon was in the corpse and they had theirs by the time we all woke up.

But that proof still sounds shaky. If Cain doesn't know, why is Siffrin suspicious?

And they were sleeping in the Solarium, right? There's plenty of dirt there.

Isn't a little bit of dirt extremely easy to plant on someone? Then the culprit just washes their hands and walks away.

The injury could still be innocent. There's nothing to say that the culprit had to be injured. People are just assuming they probably were.

He fell over a potted plant, which I saw with my own eyes. I imagine dirt could easily come by that.
