WEEK THREE
WEEK THREE
28 Guests
You awaken smothered in wonderfully soft blankets. If you are lucky, there is a warm body next to you, but... those are becoming shorter and shorter in supply, aren't they?
It's Monday at Château Ambregris, and you have just arrived here. Whatever clothes you are wearing, whatever injuries you are sporting... They are once again accurate to how you were before this tale began. Whether this leaves you with any urgent matters to take care of or relieved of ailing you had contracted in the 'last' week, the gong of the numerous clocks chimes out indifferently to the hour. Gone is the urgent summons of the past two weeks, with no Witch to greet you.
Rise and shine, and face your 'first' day in your 'new' home! And though you may now think yourself quite familiar with it, maybe another look around wouldn't hurt?
TIME LOOP:
-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.
LOCATIONS UPDATED:
- library, gardens
- mud bath → aquarium
- menagerie → photography studio
- grotto → greenhouse

WEEKLY EFFECT
This week every character will have a spirit animal that follows them around like a familiar. The choice of animal is up to you (natural or supernatural), but it should represent them in some way. The animal is restricted in size to that of a large dog and is incorporeal, though it can interact with other spirit animals. As the animal is a representation of their heart and inner self, it might be better at expressing itself than it's owner.
Yes, this is basically daemons. This palace clearly needs more animals for emotional support!

afterwards ayaka will be found at the solarium… alone?
SIKE! if you approach a little too close without warning, a little flying missile will swoop down in front or over you, chirping an angry little tune— it’s extremely cute, though. ]
Ah— uh, sorry about that! I don’t know why it keeps following me, honestly.
[ she would like it if it stopped, actually. ]
narcissus
It's much more jarring when someone is screaming a few feet away.
Andrew snaps up out of bed a little abruptly at the scream, one hand snapping to her pillow. There's nothing there, of course. No, there isn't nothing... something jumps away from her hand and flutters to the top of the bed canopy. The response to the scream - and the wake-up song - from above the bed sounds like... barking? Angry and annoyed or laughing throatily, but between the two, it could be either.]
... Did we leave the door open? [Why are there birds.]
no subject
ayaka, on the other hand, stares up at the display with a look of exhaustion. ]
Don’t tell me he gave us pets to take care of.
no subject
Andrew leans back against the pillows, folding her hands over her lap. She contemplates if she'll bother leaving bed today.]
I wonder if this means the capybaras are gone. [What's that in her voice? A sense of loss...?]
no subject
[ maybe they don’t deserve nice things after what happened with siffrin.
ayaka turns on her stomach, throwing a pillow over her head as the the birds continue play-fighting. she knows there’s some connection to it, she just can’t be bothered to figure it out at the moment.
she speaks up, muffled through the pillow. ]
Maybe if we ignore it it’ll go away.
no subject
The birds... do not seem ready to stop any time soon, at least on the magpie's end. It tries picking at the canopy, then, realizing it cannot do anything to the fabric in its form, stomps around up there in a huff.]
...Ignoring something usually doesn't erase it. It just seeps in and festers like rot inside wood.
no subject
[ because if they have to be forced to live this day over and over, she'll make sure she wastes as much of it as possible.
the robin, on the other hand, seems both eager to continue singing to establish dominance and kindly bother ayaka. in other words, it flies down to the pillow on her head and starts chirping a tune. ]
no subject
[She sits at the edge of Ayaka's bed, glancing down at the pillows. Then - not violently, merely quickly enough to catch up or cause a startle, she reaches for the robin and finds that she makes no contact. It may piss off the bird who's been so seemingly protecting of Ayaka's space, though, she muses.]
It seems we cannot touch them if they don't have anything to do with us.
no subject
realizing the futility of this, ayaka slides out from underneath the pillow, actually careful to not disturb the bird. ]
So it's a magical pet. [ she sighs. ] Honestly, I know it's a waste of time to look for rhyme or reason in Ish's actions, but this has neither of those.
no subject
This seems strangely arbitrary, especially when compared with last week. The animals are behaving a bit suspiciously, too friendly to humans than a normal bird would be, but she's still waking up, and her suspicion and powers of deduction are coming with it.]
Now we're each attached to one - for what? To care for it? A whole birdcage, full of us and them?
no subject
[Sariel looks up at the little bird, remarkably unflummoxed. There's an ant chilling on his shoulder, waggling its antennae.]
It's kind of you.
[????]
no subject
But I haven't done anything.
[ though since sariel isn't getting closer, the robin stops its vicious attack, settling on ayaka's shoulder instead. it's not mirroring the ant, what are you talking about? ]
no subject
[He's reaching up to pet his little ant. Pet pet.]
no subject
... ]
I can feel a sort of connection to it, but I don't think I have any part that's connected to me that's this loud and eager to pick a fight.
[ maybe if he were talking about opposites, then maybe she would agree there, but her core? no, she's nowhere near this bold. ]
no subject
[This is outside his mental paygrade, anyways.]
It just doesn't show on your face.
no subject
[ if she were this loud and obnoxious, what would be the point of pretending to be a meek person? honestly, if that's the case, then this bird should be linked to saber, inste--
...oh. ]
You know what, never mind. Do you feel represented by an ant?
no subject
[Okay, never mind. He nods.]
Yes. Though...maybe not exactly the same as before.
no subject
[ she tilts her head to the side. ]

I think it might just want a ride with you--
[Scarlet raises an arm to try to protect his face, in case the little flying missile decides it's going to use its talons anytime soon. At least scarlet isn't blaming Ayaka for this]
no subject
It tried to pick a fight with Andrew's when we woke up. She also has a bird, but it's way bigger. [ maybe it just likes to fight? she doesn't get how this is supposed to represent her. ]
Yours seems calmer.
no subject
It hasn't tried to leave my hood at all! I don't know how to move quickly without risking harm to it...
[Maybe it's too introverted to try to leave the safety of Scarlet's red cloak, who knows!]
no subject
Is it so shocking to be here once again?
[obviously that must be what Ayaka is yelling about, right?]
no subject
[ like, no, that's not pleasant either, but she's used to that, unfortunately. ]
There's a bird!!
[ and said bird has turned around and detected break to be its mortal enemy, flapping its wings and chirping. ]
no subject
The white fox that's following at his heel tilts its head, curious.]
Let me guess: it was there when you woke up?
no subject
[ she nods. ]
Yeah, it did. I was woken up by it singing.
[ and as she says this, the bird tries to dive bomb at the fox, but flying up at the last minute. ]
