INVESTIGATION III
Investigation
CLANG, CLANG, CLANGCLANGCLANG.
Your early morning begins with the infernal but familiar chime of dozens of grandfather clocks crying out in unison. Or does it? Let's rewind a little!
For those of you on the first floor of the castle the morning may begin just a few seconds earlier and it may sound more like BOOM!! - and who doesn't enjoy the ominous rumble of an explosion as their wake-up call? At least nothing seems to be immediately on fire this time.
Whether it is the boom or the clocks that wake you, you'll find that it is just past 5am and another Friday is upon you. While this may fill you with a sense of trepidation, you might still enjoy taking a quick look out the window. Every single flowering plant in the garden is in full bloom today, despite not even getting to the point of budding during the rest of the week. You don't remember spotting cherry trees out there before, but there they are. There's plum and apple, too, seemingly new saplings you don't remember from last night crowding the palace windows. You can only hope that this is a good omen for all things to come.
(( OOC: Comment to this entry with where your character is going in the morning. A mod response will let you know if thereβs anything to be found there! The Investigation is a free-for-all until all bodies have been found.
Once the victim(s) have been identified, there will be an IC announcement, and mods will provide Investigation sub-headers for the relevant locations. Up to 3 characters are welcome to investigate under each header unless indicated otherwise. ))

[okay no he will take this seriously. what is up here at first glance. is anything on fire]
no subject
Is Sariel looking anywhere in particular? ]

But when he approaches the castle again, he might find a minuscule red stain at the beginning of the path from the chapel back entrance towards the garden. It's close to one of the little streams flowing through the area this week. ]
no subject
[Time to sniff it, too. Blood?]
no subject
Scrutinizing the floor closely as he is, he can see another tiny stain a bit further down the path, heading up towards the north side of the castle. ]
no subject
[He'll take note of it, before wandering over to the tiny stain further down. Does THIS one smell of blood?]
no subject
The second one is similarly tiny and also smells of blood... and he'll find a few more that match this description, until he arrives by the stained glass windows of the chapel. ]
no subject
[Now the chapel. Well. What's up with these? Speaking as an angel. Any drops on the glass? Around the area?]
no subject
But now that the commotion from earlier has settled and Sariel is giving things a proper look, he'll find that there is a roughly grapefruit-sized hole in one of the stained glass windows, a few inches above the base.
The hole has the jagged edges characteristic of broken glass and there is a tiny bit of blood on the upper part of the hole. ]
no subject
[anyways. broken glass...he's immediately looking down. any glass out here? does it look like it was broken from outside, or inside?]
no subject
And since he's looking at the area, he'll also find something else... a bloody knife, a few feet from the window hole. ]
no subject
[And waow....knife. Is it. In the window? On the ground? Is the whole of it bloody? He's going to pick it up.]
no subject
The knife is on the path outside, a few feet from the window! The blade of it is bloody, but the handle is clean. ]
no subject
[Any blood trails around it?]
no subject
There's a small smear of blood from the blade to be found on the ground in front of it, but no further blood trails! ]
no subject
[Also nothing in the stream near the first blood dot?]
no subject
The places with blood are: the little droplets that led Sariel here, the blade of the knife (and a bit of the floor by it), and the jagged upper edge of the window hole. Everything else is clean!
And so is the stream, it is flowing peacefully and without anything of note in it! ]
