WEEK FOUR
WEEK FOUR
25 Guests
The day is rung in by a myriad clocks tolling at once.
It's a familiar sound. It's the first time you're hearing it.
Once again, Monday is upon you, and once again you have just arrived at the castle to meet your new roommates. The last week is gone without a trace - nothing there to remind you of its existence. Injuries have been replaced with the old aches you may have felt before coming here, keepsakes have vanished and decorations have returned to their original state.
Formally, this is a clean slate and a fresh start. But that's not how it feels in your mind - your bodies may be rewound, but your hearts are steadily continuing, carrying the weight of a time that never was.
As always, the castle is new and old at once. Static, yet ever-changing. The curious minds among you may find it a good idea to explore a little.
TIME LOOP:
-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log unless you wish to have them affected by the weekly effect as early as Monday.
-The state of their bodies is still exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse). This is independent of the weekly effect.
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.
LOCATIONS UPDATED:
- garden, library, promenade
- aquarium β wintering room
- photography studio β tea room

WEEKLY EFFECT
This week the castle's whims have decided to put on a little fashion show! Characters may awaken to find themselves dressed in an outfit that they have once worn... or an outfit that they might have worn, in a future that has never come to pass. These clothes are not period-accurate and instead reflect the characters' own lives and thus worlds! It's time to shine in an outfit you absolutely love - or absolutely loathe!
The drawback is that these magical clothes also cannot be removed until sundown. Whatever outfit you woke up in? You're stuck in it! The only way to escape your dress-up fate is to damage the clothing, but if you do so you'll find yourself stuck naked until the beginning of the next day. The castle's strange properties do at least provide a little cloud of mist that will follow characters around for modesty reasons.
The new clothes will remain after the day of their appearance. They'll lose all strange properties and become garments that can simply be worn or discarded at will, like all other clothing.

(OOC: Counter proposals are open until Tuesday! Murder proposals are closed! Thank you all for your enthusiasm!)

[ are any of their minds in the right place for this, truly? these last few days have been a whirlwind of changes in their circumstances. there's no stable footing to find; they can only keep moving. ]
I think it would be prudent to take a closer look at the hedge maze as well. Perhaps not alone, though, in case anything else like that lies waiting in ambush... I have gone into it earlier in this week, but I'll admit that only significant changes I noted were in how the water clock was unsynced, and in how the hedges now grow taller than they once did.

[ Doesn't know if she already knows his name, but it's polite.
Keep moving he does; his voice shifts a bit with exertion as he makes his way down the stairs. ]
Definitely not alone, you're right. Four or five people who trust one another, are capable in combat, to watch each other's backs and fight off any more intruders. We can't all go in there, and we don't want to risk betrayal when we need to be working together.
[ As evidenced by everything today. ]
Every change we find should be treated as significant.

[ each of those things separately, perhaps. but together? four or five people who trust each otherβ tenuous, perhaps, especially in the wake of the day's events, but doable, likely. that those five are capable in combat, and specifically in the kind that involves working with and around others, well...
maybe they have at least four or five people who are combat capable and unlikely to accidentally blow each other up or sideswipe the others by accident, but for them to be the ones who also trust each other to fight alongside one another, given what just happened with the Water Lilies this morning ... ]

[ A pause as he hops down the last few steps. ]
Bradley's a good shot, and I know him better and trust him more than anyone else here. I know we'd be on the same page. We've fought alongside one another before and we make a good team.
Despite what he's done, Richard. He has his wish, I don't think he'd try anything else. He's good with the sword, but so am I.
[ Cain is, if anything, cautious. ]
There's that one guy...strikes me as a soldier. I've never gotten his name. I don't know him well, but I get the impression he'd take the duty and the mission seriously and wouldn't allow for interference. Gotta do more groundwork on him though.
[ Like. Look at his face. Or get a name! ]
And then...hmm, G'raha. Not sure how good of a fighter he is, but he's a scholar. He's attentive to detail and knows how to put those hints together. [ As evidenced by how he acts during trials. ] He also knows his magic. And since that's what's causing the rift, someone with the smarts would be indispensable.
Just an example, off the top of my head. What do you think?

[ sousuke sagara has a very distinctive and unique presence. ]
... I suppose it is convenient that some of those here arrived alongside those they've fought besides previously. I might simply be too cynical about the likelihood of success involving these kinds of things, as I don't really have much reason to critique your assessment of those mentioned.
So long as they don't accidentally get in each others' way, at least.

[ Homura is right, and the small, cautious part of Cain agrees.
But the larger, more Central part of him protests. ]
I know. We barely know each other, and I'm already asking you a lot to trust me on this hypothetical scenario. You'd be totally right to question me or my choice of companions.
But if we don't do anything, nothing will happen. There's a chance we might not learn anything, but I'd rather that than be caught out on the back foot again and lose more people. I want to say it'd be worth the risk.
