Investigation IV
INVESTIGATION
Being forced asleep the second the clock struck midnight has been an ill-omen for weeks now. Yet this morning sees you waking not to explosions and smoke, but to the comfortable feeling of eight hours of uninterrupted rest. It's 8 in the morning and the sun is already out, and all is quiet around Chateau Ambregris.
Do you dare hope that you can face the day without further bloodshed? That Ish's announcement of needing no more bodies has stilled the restless violence in everybody's hearts? They say time heals all wounds, but has this ever-repeating week truly had the same effect?
(( OOC: Comment to this entry with where your character is going in the morning. A mod response will let you know if thereβs anything to be found there! The Investigation is a free-for-all until all bodies have been found.
Once the victim(s) have been identified, there will be an IC announcement, and mods will provide Investigation sub-headers for the relevant locations. Up to 3 characters are welcome to investigate under each header unless indicated otherwise. ))

The body is facedown in a pile of the color, so Ayaka cannot see their face - but the hair is also red, and so are the characteristic long and fuzzy ears. It's not hard to guess who may be resting here.
He's been illuminating the castle with his friendly attitude, but his smile will no longer be seen in these halls.
G'raha Tia is dead. ]

[ thereβs. so. much. red.
unlike the sight of saboβs head, this is a whole body drowning in a pool of red. gβraha tia, the kind young man, was now red, red, redβ
unable to handle the horror in front of her, ayaka screams. ]

Ayaka's scream in the distance directs him to the observatory...where he finds exactly what he feared most.]
G'raha...
[His voice cracks at the edges. Not G'raha. Not after all of the sacrifices he's made. Not Urianger's friend.
His hands ball into fists. He bows his head, trembling. Not even the possibility of this not being the end for G'raha is of consolation. After all, it doesn't change the fact that someone here took his life in the first place. It doesn't change the fact that they're going to have to go through the emotional labor of investigating his murder and discuss what might have happened. It doesn't change the fact that he's now witnessed his friend lying dead in a pool of blood right before his eyes.
Tears prick at the corners of his eyes and he begins to quietly weep.
Just. Give him a second.]

She's here and there is a recognizable body on the ground in front of her, one that was so full of life and love, one that hugged her just a few days ago and told her he was proud of her. He shouldn't be. She couldn't stop this.
How ironic is it, that he rushed to her aid both times and saved her life? How ironic is it, that the man who was a beacon of hope and faith has fallen right before the end?
She'd laugh at the bitter taste it all leaves behind, but there is no humor to partake in here.
What did she tell him? To get all of his teasing in while he still could? Ah, this isn't what she meant. She really thought he'd make it out of this without tragedy befalling him.
This week, she hasn't cried. She hadn't cried over the deaths and the near one she experienced herself. She'd kept it together, held it in to continue moving forward β how can she do so now?
A Lili falls to her knees near his body and weeps. It's perhaps a good thing she has one eye covered, to obscure the full severity of how awful this is.
There is no dignity in death. ]

Urianger is pulled from his own breakdown when he hears Lili weeping nearby. Indeed, she too has become a friend between he and G'raha- a trusted ally who has worked hard to protect the others.
And now...this.
Urianger takes a moment to take a breath and steel himself before approaching and kneeling beside Lili. Beside G'raha.]
Prithee, Lili, come to me.
[He puts an arm around her so that she may have a shoulder to cry on.]

Still, she turns to cling to him and cries, cries, cries. ]
Urianger... I'm so sorry...!

...Twelve knows he needs some time, too.]
As am I, child. As am I.
