INVESTIGATION

Being forced asleep the second the clock struck midnight has been an ill-omen for weeks now. Yet this morning sees you waking not to explosions and smoke, but to the comfortable feeling of eight hours of uninterrupted rest. It's 8 in the morning and the sun is already out, and all is quiet around Chateau Ambregris.

Do you dare hope that you can face the day without further bloodshed? That Ish's announcement of needing no more bodies has stilled the restless violence in everybody's hearts? They say time heals all wounds, but has this ever-repeating week truly had the same effect?

[How about no colors can be seen-- are there any obviously misplaced lumps or objects, or smells to follow instead?]

[ me forgetting this and patting break on the head.

but luckily enough there is a distinctive scent that break would easily recognize, the tell-tale twang of iron in the air, from the sink. ]

[Nothing quite like the smell of Folgers iron in the morning to really wake you up...

Time to look in the sink and (carefully) stick his hand in there to see what's up]

[ ....surprise! there's nothing in the sink! at least nothing in there break can grab. he'll spot (or smell really), some blood in the basin of the sink along the outside edges. it's not particularly messy but enough to be noticeable, and it's streaky as it closer to the middle to the drain.

his nose is really doing the work here, because as he's rummaging around the sink he will catch the faint smell of roses. that he can trace to the bar of soap on the sink that's still a little wet. ]

[Angelo Hates This One Trick.... It's almost amazing that anyone can smell roses anymore, considering how everywhere the scent generally is.

Break's going to go dry his hand off now, assuming there's an unused towel nearby. Is there anything else immediately out of place? Knife on the counter, or something thrown to the floor?

Blood and used soap are concerning, but maybe someone culinarily challenged was here, on the weekly night of murder, instead of an actual murder? More evidence needed.]

[ nothing immediately noticeable, but as break scans the room from by the sink he'll realize that there's that familiar smell of iron again, but it seems to be coming from somewhere else.

following it leads him to the larder, door slightly ajar.
