EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

So I'm not the only one who wandered back this way, huh.

[ Couldn't help it, after all this time. They... wanted to see, what all the colors in here were. What "water lilies" looked like beyond the shades.

It really is a busy place, design wise. ]

yoru had like the idea of them. in reality they had been gaudy and mismatched, too tall or too short and only extremes in between. he still thinks of them as his. ]

I like that more. The colors... are a bit much, for me.

Though, Siffrin's glad to see that Yoru is the same as before. They hold out their hands wordlessly. ]

[ siffrin, yoru is so glad to be on the same page. he takes their hands with a big smile. ]

Maybe this time… a different color?

[ Oh, so nice. So, so good, that Yoru will always be there to take their hands. ]

Something... solid, at least. And without all the decorations and furniture. After staying in the cottages for so long, I'd forgotten how crowded it is in here.

[ Can't go a step without almost knocking something over. ]

[ he tilts his head and the the nail polish bottles hover over. he certainly has missed using his powers. ]

[ Sorry. Hold on. Siffrin stares at the bottles, trying to work out what shades they were before. ]

... Sorry. I don't know color names. Besides red, green, and purple right now.

[ Told to him... But he tilts his head at a dark navy. Darker colors had always been their favorites. ]

You choose one, too. I'd like to keep you as long as I can.

Yeah! I can make you float, too. Would’ve been soooo useful, but Ish is boring.

[ an absentminded comment, really. he’s busy studying the bottles. ]

So navy blue. [ he floats it closer to siffrin. ] This one’s orange, maybe pumpkin. Pink. Yellow. I’d call this a chocolate brown. And black, which we used last time.

… Wait, how come you don’t know colors?

[ Navy blue... Pretty. Siffrin takes stock of the others, thinking about how floating would be pretty cool and The Witch is totally boring, and gently plucks the color from the air after freeing a hand.

One of my best kept secrets. It might sound kinda strange, but... Today's my first ever time seeing color. Before, I just saw the world in shades.

[ So they couldn't even see how pretty Yoru looked fully, the pink in his hair. ]

[ as though siffrin has always been made of all the colors, millions of shades, and it surprises yoru that all along siffrin has been the only one who couldn’t see it. ]

[ Vibrant in his heart... Siffrin's cheeks warm and they tug their hat down, trying to hide the embarrassment. ]

Oh, um... [ (ahhhhh what do you say) ] You're-- vibrant, too. A field of-- of flowers, on a sunny day. Relaxing. Warm. Quiet. My... My favorite weather to sleep in.

[ Surrounded by gentle scents and the soft buzzing of insects... That's Yoru, truly. ]

[ that’s not even close to what yoru thinks of himself: a cold, dead thing needing another’s body to breathe for him. so soaked into the ground that it’s become fertile with his decay, and all around him there’s only one shade of flowers. red and curling and poisonous.

he supposes that does count as a field of flowers. but warm? can he be warm and cold all at once? do… the others see him similarly?

or is this just siffrin’s heart being generous in its bias? ]

It’s not that I don’t believe you. It’s just - surprising…! I guess that’s the word. Surprising that I could become something like that to someone.

[ not surprising that siffrin would paint their love in warm hues. that’s expected. ]

[ Surprising... when Yoru's always nothing but kind and loving to them, when they've always looked at him and Jin as people who wanted only for their loved ones' well being? He's such a spring day, just like G'raha. ]
