EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

The tone for this one is fond, a huff of laughter running though two syllables. ]

[ What does he want indeed? He finds it a difficult question to answer, only because he so rarely allows himself to answer it. ]

I… want nothing more than to lay side by side with you as we gaze upon the night sky, perhaps near an ancient excavation site or on our way to remote location marked upon a treasure map.

[ However that can be translated into a ring… that’s what he wants. ]

[ That wasn't direct enough??? Apparently not. Siffrin'll take his hands, careful with the flower. ]

For now, it can be a promise. Okay?

[ His fingers twitch against Siffrin's with the desire to hold them back, but his desire to keep the flower safe outweighs it. But he looks at Siffrin closely, tilting his head slightly. ]

You give flowers to people who are important to you. That one, [ with a gentle nudge at the peony, ] will die eventually, but my feelings won't. So I thought that a flower ring would be a good way to show that no matter how much time passes, you'll always be important to me.

[ He doesn't? It's something G'raha is so used to doing, though, only letting things slip because more than often he struggles to shut himself up, but...

He'll have to get used to not needing to dance around subjects, afraid of the results. The two of them are way past that anyway. With a smile, he affixes the flower to his shirt, using his scarf to secure its place.

That it's not a proposal doesn't upset him either, because he smiles, soft as ever. ]

I will do my utmost to see that it lives a long, happy life.

[ For as long as a flower like this can anyway. ]

On Etheirys, there is a rare flower known as the Elpis. 'Tis known to react to the emotions of those in its proximity. I wonder what color the bloom would take on right in this moment. A light pink, perhaps, like the peony you've gifted me.

[ Yeah, he doesn't need to worry about it. But Siffrin's a hypocrite for saying so anyway.

... The flower being so taken care of makes them shy, tugging their hat down to hide the expression best they can from someone the same height. ]

[ Light pink. That's a lovely color, really. It suits her.

You're gonna see your family members in color.) ]

Raha, I don't want to see them anymore. I think I'm gonna have a heart attack.

[ Well if they're going to hide their face, G'raha is going to try and swipe it so he can look at them (10). ]

Are you a bundle of nerves now? You will see them in a new light. You should feel anticipation, not dread.

[ His fingers brush the hem (11), but Siffrin steps away and turns their back to further hide.

(Stars... you're gonna see Isa in color. You wonder what he looks like. What color is the shade of his hair, eyes, clothing... all that lies beneath?

You shouldn't be thinking about him but you can't help it you're going to feel the same crash of emotions you did when you realized you loved him and you're going to drown in it this time, because he's going to smile and ask if he has something on his face since you keep staring at him and you're not going to be able to say something witty to make him laugh you're just going to choke up and worst case scenario you just flatout tell him a handsome smile and then you'll really be in the thick of it, won't you siffrin, he'll be put off and you'll be cheating on raha and maybe you shouldn't be his and he shouldn't be yours and) ]

He has an inkling of where Siffrin's thoughts are racing right now. He's nervous because he'll see Isa again. He'll see Isa in color and that will hold significance.

It isn't like G'raha can be upset with them either, not when the thought of facing the Warrior of Light again makes him nervous too.

[ Fuck it. He gives them a little zap of aether—healing, but probably a little bit of a surprise to suddenly feel it. ]

[ It is a surprise and it makes them yelp, jumping away as they stare at G'raha very like to an animal that just got spooked.

[ There's amusement twinkling in his eyes as he takes in their surprise.

It's the perfect opportunity for another try, so he uses that surprise to swipe at their hat again (15). ]
