EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

🔮 Universal Communication will be possible, courtesy of Manba and Ish. Everyone who wants one will be given a small fox that can communicate with other foxes through voice and video; the foxes can talk and are fairly simple creatures, enjoy them and give them fried tofu once in a while.
🔮 Powers are on for the finale, but Ish will step in and yeet anyone who gets too out of hand back to their homeworld, so play nice! (or relatively nice. )

It was a very crowded engagement, yes... I am a little surprised there weren't more near misses with people nearly hitting each other.

[ the ghost of Miki Sayaka, here to complain about feeling threatened by friendly fire. but anyway, Homura sure knows she was hard pressed to line up some of her shots sometimes.

between Richard being their obligate sword user, Vanis and Chara with their knives, Clover with her axe, and whatever the hell Blade was doing, nevermind the kebiishis' own weapons and their fun little pet skeletons. that's a lot of live steel flying around in a pretty hectic battlefield. ]

I am also glad we all made it out of that. Are you ... [ pause, rephrase. ] It seemed like you took quite the blow from one of them, partway through.

[ 'how are you doing now?' ]

Oh...yeah. Definitely a lotta melee going on there.

[ Now that Homura mentions it... Sure was a lot of room for friendly fire there, huh? Luck really was on their side that battle, despite any questionable decisions made. And a lot of help, of course. Her eyes start swimming a little the more she goes down that train of thought. Wow, a wrong move and that really all could've ended so badly.

And well...it almost did for her. ]

Uhh, I think something magic-y happened to block the damage. Which is great, because I totally felt the fear of exploding! But yeah, the hazards of melee, right?

[ The important part is that it didn't happen! She tries to shake it off with a grin and a thumbs up, fueling it with the sheer relief of them still being alive. ]

Blocked or not ... Have you been seen to by any of those present who are capable of healing?

[ just in case. the important part is that all of them are still alive, yes, which is why she would rather make sure nothing overlooked comes back to bite them later. ]

[ Of course she can. Clover looks sheepish as she places her arms (and axe) behind her, the very picture of an embarrassed teenager. ]

...Oops. Yeah, I'll go see them in a sec. But I wanted to check on you guys first, y'know?

[ Despite the cutesiness of the gesture, she radiates a nervous energy reminiscent of an anxious chihuahua. ]

[ Homura dips her head a little, politely, gently rebuffing, even as she finally gets around to reholstering that damn gun. Clover please. ]

You may rest assured that I am well. [ and An Lili is fine too, as far as she can tell, but Homura figures Clover will be running over to the other girl in a moment anyway. ] I have fought worse, and in poorer conditions, albeit ... generally with better options, in terms of armament. It is you that I would be more concerned about right now, for the reasons that you have already mentioned.

[ like Homura and Lili being far back and Clover not, hmmm. ]

Yeah...Yeah, I'm just glad you're all right. I'll probably be right as rain after I see someone about that dumb hit I took, too.

[ She nods at that, shoulders relaxing, yet still acting embarrassed. It's a way to cover up how on edge she is about what bullshit will try to stand in their way next. Her trust may be shaken, but she still really wants them all to be able to escape this stupid castle.

She tries not to think too hard about how panicked she and Lili were that day when Homura did her experiment. Clearly, it was no premonition. ]

Sheesh, if I knew this was gonna happen, I would've asked for more lessons on gun handling. Before the whole...mascot workshop thingy, I mean.

Sagara Sousuke is a very straightforward person ... but I do wonder how he expected to give a lecture through that costume.
