EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

🔮 Universal Communication will be possible, courtesy of Manba and Ish. Everyone who wants one will be given a small fox that can communicate with other foxes through voice and video; the foxes can talk and are fairly simple creatures, enjoy them and give them fried tofu once in a while.
🔮 Powers are on for the finale, but Ish will step in and yeet anyone who gets too out of hand back to their homeworld, so play nice! (or relatively nice. )

Blade does grant a nod, though. He doesn't have Hwylyrn's full story on each subject, but he has heard enough.

[ Unless Ish is looking to immediately jumpstart his marriage before he returns home. But, he strikes him as a planner and doubts this will be any different. ]

I'd sleep for a few years when we're settled in, but we need to take care of Junior.

[ so them's the breaks. but ish will still sleep!! at least a little!!!! ]

Are you going back with Dan Heng?

[ Hwylyrn and Ish are taking care of Junior...? Blade is mildly surprised, but that dulls soon enough when he remembers what that child did - so that ebbs away. In the end, that is his answer. That is his path. ]

I wonder if either of you have raised a child before.

[ ...Has anyone here? Lord, who here is qualified for raising kids except for one or two people? Not that the local girldad can talk, maybe. ]

...The guarantee of having a bridge for interdimensional travel will make for a good amount of gratefulness and evidence for "hardwork".

As for my plans, I will head with Dan Heng to a distant star to try something. Whether it will work or not, I will then return back with him.

[ Either way, he will be with Dan Heng for a little while even while going to another world. And then ideally return back with him to their universe after that. ]

[ Blade remembers saying those exact words once to a certain someone, so he finds it a little funny.

But, someone's got to be the fast learner between Hwylyrn and Ish when it comes to child-rearing. ]

[ Regardless, he will nod, and finally...one last smirk for the road creeps upon his face. ]

I'll imagine it's the same for you. [ Then, amused: ] Unless you make a habit out of getting into too much trouble again.

I just wanna settle down and figure out this whole marriage and house thing for a while. So don't worry about me forrrrrrr at least a few years?

[ well, maybe sooner if hwylryn wants to cause chaos. ]

[ Hwylyrn always seems like the person to invite trouble, given his personal history - even when he isn't being the individual starting some kind of nonsense. So, he will be unsurprised if it finds Ish as a casualty. ]

[ Also, if it's the kingdom that they were talking about, there will even be something like a thumbs-up in spirit if he finds out. Revenge is sweet and even if not...well, Blade is not the picture of morality. Like, definitely not. ]

And, retribution is not one of my interests, where you are concerned. Not sure if I can say the same for everyone else, but it is what it is.

Well, I'd hope the rest of them have other things to keep them busy. I'm actually more powerful than I was when we started this! But shh, don't tell, it's a secret.

[ Blade remembers it with ease like it was yesterday, and how many times he tried to kill Ish on the regular. An amused sound escapes him at the recollection. ]

[ Blade simply says with a knowing look on his face. Though, the amusement levels raise at Ish's other comment. ]

Unless they pick a fight with me or Hwylryn, why would they?

[ i mean blade will enjoy a nice tussle with ish's fiance but that's the rare instance where ish recognizes it's in good fun. ]
