WEEK ONE
WEEK ONE
32 Guests
Maybe being swept away to a fancy castle isn't what you wanted (Hickey aside), but the fact of the matter is that you're stuck here, at least for now. Thankfully there's enough food even if hot chocolate for breakfast might be a bit rich for some palates. There's at least a stock of raw food in the kitchens, but your hapless kidnapper is a Witch, not a chef, so you'll have to perform your own, manual kitchen magic if the provided meals aren't to your liking.
Just try not to burn the place down before you get the chance to take your host at his word (that you'll be leaving in a week's time, certainly, trust).
If you do get the cabin fever immediately, the grounds are a beautiful reprieve from the great indoors -- and if nothing else, perhaps you can find time to get to know your fellow guests. The weather is gorgeous all week, cheerfully sunny, which lends something to the mood.
WEEKLY EFFECT
This week, characters will feel heightened emotions periodically. If they're very happy about something, it'll feel like the best thing in the world! If they'd usually brush off something mildly annoying, suddenly it'll grate on their nerves. This effect will last throughout the week until investigation and is completely optional.

which ends up not being much of a comment but just a lot of quiet staring. ]

Nothing to say?
[ Like Blade can talk, but heightened emotions of a different kind means he's far too curious amongst the sudden urge to confess. It's all good. ]
no subject
but give sabo a bit longer as he'll look as though he's thinks through how he wants to go about this. ]
No, more like I'm narrowing down the question that I'd like to ask.
no subject
Anyway, Blade doesn't particularly mind. Sabo can take the time to do the thinker on this matter. ]
...feel free.
no subject
no need to worry about waiting too long, he'll settle on something that works for him in the moment. ]
If you were to do it again, would you try to prevent the lives lost?
no subject
Then, there is one answer and one alone: ]
No.
no subject
...then what did those people do to deserve to die?
no subject
However, the weight of the guilt, the anger he has for the shadow that still looms over his life is amplified. That with the urge to comment and confess well... ]
He was protecting Dan F- [ A pause. ] Me. He was protecting me. I was the main perpetrator of what happened that day.
no subject
did they used to be friends? andβ
(broken glass, red stone against the pavement, ribbons and bindings and gold shattering soon after.)
... no. it wasn't like that, was it? how does protecting one person lead to societal upheaval? ]
no subject
That still doesn't answer my question. What did those people do to deserve to die?
[ ... ]
What kind of people were they?

Ensuring he is the one who kills Dan Heng. That he is the one who follows him into hell. Dan Heng's intervention is not anticipated and recollection of events already stirs up the worst, but once he returns to his senses, he turns back to Sabo, meeting him eye-to-eye, hearing the touch of firmness elevated ever-so-slightly in that tone. It reminds him, that he never replied, didn't he?
So instead of Dan Heng, it's Blade who answers first. ]
You asked me this first.
Many involved had blood on their hands. [ Did they? He doesn't remember. He doesn't recall. He remembers. One life, but he didn't save it. He doesn'tβ ] My actions was one catalyst for the start.
Some deserved to die. Some didn't. But, I wouldn't have saved any life. It isn't about deserving. I am a blade. Not a savior. Not anyone who preserves life. Even if he says I "protected" him.
[ But as Dan Heng is taking responsibility for his previous crimes, isn't he? Yet, Blade is maddened enough to slip from where he is standing to make strides on to where Dan Heng is, hand on a blade. ]
...Answer that other question of his, Imbibitor Lunae. I wasn't protecting you. [ Or maybe he was. He doesn't know anymore. Doesn't remember completely. He can't. All he knows now is to be a blade. ] So, tell them. Would you have saved those people?
[ As Dan Heng. ]

just. how does he respond to all of this? honestly, with the information that he has, which is effectively nothing, there isn't much that he can. anything he would say seems that he would be assuming too much. ]
Then thank you for telling me. [ ... ] And I'm curious to know what answer he'll provide me.
[ all eyes on dan heng now. ]
no subject
The burden will rest somewhat on Dan Heng's shoulders - though no one has thanked him for anything in recent memory.
Though he doesn't doubt he won't disappoint. Such to the point this gets a glance of acknowledgement before he refocuses on Dan Heng.
Or maybe he will. The stage has set, and every player has assembled. Blade doesn't think of matters in terms like these, but this is an irrefutable truth.
Yet, for better or worse Sabo's unintentional but meaningful questioning have left their mark. Only time can tell what impact it will have. ]

[Sariel looks down at the ground, and doesn't say anything.]
no subject
... ]
no subject
I'm not him.
While his recollection is still scattered like leaves in the wind, it doesn't change the fact that he recalls some of it. That he wasn't completely cleansed of the sin when he became Dan Heng. ]
I do not recall all of his- my memories. I can not tell you if Dan Feng would save those lives or not.
However, I do regret what we did. The price was far too steep.
no subject
Whatever happened then and now, doesn't matter. His vision swims in crimson and all he sees is Dan
HengFeng. ]The price...of five people - three must pay the price.
[ Blade reaches out suddenly, with his blade, drawn to try to bring it ever to close to Dan Heng's neck. ]
Try better next time.
no subject
[ This is getting dangerous... Dan Heng is going to start backing away. ]
If you want the debt paid, then follow me.
[ Can't risk everyone else here so he's just going to take off out of here. Bye everyone! ]
(no subject)
no subject
Did you want him to protect you?
no subject
I. I can't recall.

[ Look at Blade being crazy ]
no subject
[Driven to madness over protecting someone...]
[He sighs.]
Is he a danger to you?
(no subject)
no subject
He is suddenly holding his head and unable to speak from this point. He's dissociating from recalling too much of his past. ]
