Psst. Were you enjoying your peaceful, sleepy spring morning, blanketed in magic and mystery? Alas, the times they are a-changin’ – that is to say, everyone will get a rude wake-up call from a sleep they may not remember falling into at precisely 8 o’clock AM on the dot, every single grandfather clock clanging out the hour once again. It’s truly a grand and terrible orchestra, made perhaps just a bit worse by the state some of you may be waking up in.

Now, is this better or worse than your last magical wake-up?

I'd never play a direct hand in murder. But I may have helped you all out just the tiniest bit.

I just gave you more of what you were already feeling. The freedom to live a little more, to feel a little more.

You did not put the idea into anyone's head, is what you are saying. No whispers in secret, no apparent intrusive thoughts. That someone did this ... to at least some extent, of their own volition.

[ well. it's not like she's unfamiliar with what people can be capable of, when driven by the heights of emotion. ]

No direct hand doesn't disclude the existence of any extraneous aid, however. The doors all locking, and the unnatural sleep seem quite the coincidence otherwise. Is there anything else you might have done?

Correct. All I did was unlock your hearts a little, and then see what happened as a result. I've been a Witch for a long while, so this isn't new to me in the slightest.

[ he waves his hand wide in acknowledgement. ]

And correct again. It wouldn't be any fun if the murderer was caught immediately, would it? They had my help in the form of magical sleep and sequestration, but I didn't help them otherwise.

[ that's one word for it, anyway. ]

Did you know beforehand that it was going to happen? Or did you act purely reactively once you realized someone was already taking action?

[ Or, option three, he did all that and just hoped that something would happen last night, but that one seems more unlikely. ]
