At least this time you were given ample time to wreck your sleep schedule before the clocks gong at midnight (no apologies for such little sleep in the first place withstanding). The carnival looks just as you remember it, with the banquet and drinks refreshed. The spread is the same as before with two new additions: a platter of cute cupcakes that might remind you of someone, along with baozi of all types.

Like before, mind the pit in the middle and settle in to vote out the guilty party for the death of Siobhan "Shiv" Roy. With the benefit of experience, maybe this will be a little bit easier? With the mood weather lifted, there won't be any floods at trial at least.

If we think about the marks that were mentioned inside the building, as well as the odd stone that is mentioned to be from lightning, that mean that as someone left the library, they were under the effects of the emotional storms.

Perhaps someone trapped us in the library, Siobhan managed to get out, and then while angry chased the perpetrator outside into the hedge maze?

She was... rather fiery, as an individual. I could picture that occurring, though I must add that I did not know her particularly well beyond sharing quarters.

Empathy is a weakness that the rulers of the human world cannot afford. Their way of life is maintained by crushing the hopes and dreams of others - a moment of weakness - a moment of kindness - would allow their own lives to be destroyed by someone more dedicated to the pursuit and maintenance of power than they are.

It has nothing to do with her as an individual. She is just another spoke on the wheel. A faithful servant playing her role. Much like your weapon.

I actually liked her - a little.

Well, they wouldn't have been a killer yet, would they? Only attempting to murder around eleven people in the library at that point.

[He's going to hum, and gesture over at where Vanis and Homura are talking about the lantern]

She died in the hedge maze, and there's the shattered lantern on the stairs. Maybe the killer held the lantern and dropped it while on the stairs. If Siobhan was chasing them, they got her to follow into the maze where they managed to get behind her and stab her?

They are. She seemed to have her back against the hedge at some point as well.

We already know several bushes were walked through. Couldn't someone reach through one as well?

Then let me ask you a question of my own. What makes you think she was stabbed from the back?

Do you not have arms, that can wrap around a person~?

It would be easy to go behind a person, wrap your arms around them, and stab upwards with the knife. Most would probably cut along the abdomen I would imagine, but cutting under the ribs wouldn't be hard if you were near her height or taller.

But what would make someone drop their lantern? Why not, I don't know...settle it down in a better place?

If an angry woman appears at the castle doors for you, would you not drop the lantern she can use to see you from a distance and run?

I... guess you're not wrong. Especially if Blade is right about her going after her own killer. You wouldn't want to get caught in that mess.
