You awaken smothered in wonderfully soft blankets. If you are lucky, there is a warm body next to you, but... those are becoming shorter and shorter in supply, aren't they?

It's Monday at Château Ambregris, and you have just arrived here. Whatever clothes you are wearing, whatever injuries you are sporting... They are once again accurate to how you were before this tale began. Whether this leaves you with any urgent matters to take care of or relieved of ailing you had contracted in the 'last' week, the gong of the numerous clocks chimes out indifferently to the hour. Gone is the urgent summons of the past two weeks, with no Witch to greet you.

Rise and shine, and face your 'first' day in your 'new' home! And though you may now think yourself quite familiar with it, maybe another look around wouldn't hurt?

TIME LOOP:

-Characters wake up with the clothes they had with them at their canon point, like in the intro log.
-The state of their bodies is exactly the same as it was on the intro log (for better or worse).
-Any items they accumulated last week are also reset (sorry you'll need to build up your weapon cache again), except items that were given out as event rewards. Please note that the item uses are not reset.

WEEKLY EFFECT

This week every character will have a spirit animal that follows them around like a familiar. The choice of animal is up to you (natural or supernatural), but it should represent them in some way. The animal is restricted in size to that of a large dog and is incorporeal, though it can interact with other spirit animals. As the animal is a representation of their heart and inner self, it might be better at expressing itself than it's owner.

Yes, this is basically daemons. This palace clearly needs more animals for emotional support!

[ Dan Heng can be found in the Aquarium, sitting on the floor and his back against one of the large tanks. There's a plate beside him with an untouched croissant and a notebook opened up. He seems to be scribbling down notes at an incredible rate.

However, all of that probably isn't as interesting as what is coiled near him. There is a long, long critter resting beside him. ( This but large dog sized) ]

Aquarium;

[ Blade shows up at the aquarium himself after wandering around for a bit.

He has his own spirit animal with (still deciding), and when he sees Dan Heng's, he takes a pause. ]

...New aspect for this week.

[ ... ]

Dan Heng looks up at him. Then he looks at the creature beside him. It is...rather bittersweet seeing it here ]

Indeed I am. I am trying to write down what I know of Siffrin in case it slips away.

[ ...there is an irony if his spirit-thing is a wolf, by the by. In another sense so let's go with it, it'd be hilarious. Deciding on appearance details as we speak.

But, also, hearing Dan Heng say that makes him give pause, something thoughtful in his expression. ]

We can't tell what will happen as the days go by.

[ Among other reasons but he is terrible at...other things. Still, though, he'll head on closer and then ask: ]

[ Looks like it's a "good" Blade mood at the moment. ]

There's that and it's important to remember that they are remembered. All of them.

[ He's been doing this at the start of the new week... recording the data of those who no longer walk with them and try to capture their likeness down.

As for Blade's question, he'll look at the noodle again. ]

It's not that it bothers me, but it's strange seeing it while my powers are sealed.

[ It certainly is. For the moment, anyway.

Fluctuates here and there. The red and black wolf is pretty much relaxed and probably looking curiously at Dan Heng. It seems...approving; or thoughtful. Hard to tell. ]

[ He'll consider the other response. And then: ]

[ ayaka is wowed by the dragon resting by his side, though she's still keeping a decent amount of space between them. the robin flutters behind her, perching on her shoulder. ]

What are you doing?

[ giving a nod, and then he'll look at the noodle beside him before looking at the bird on her shoulder. ]

I'm putting together a record of everything that has happened here.

[simulacres]

Oh.

[ she nods, following along so far. ]

How come? Won't it disappear once it loops again?

[remainsilent]

Even if it does disappear, I don't want to risk forgetting anything or anyone.

[ He'll turn the notebook towards her so she can see the sketch of Siffrin and the information from the profile that used to hang up with the others. There's an additional section of notes underneath ]

Ah...

[ her eyes widen at the sketch, her breath caught in her chest. after a few seconds, she releases it in a sigh. ]

That looks nice. I wonder... if they'd like it.

[perfectpower]

[A translucent ferret is pawing at the glass, like it wants to go hunt all the feesh.

Meanwhile Brad is looking at the dragon coiled near Dan Heng.]

Damn, you got a wholeass dragon?

[remainsilent]

[ Is he jealous? ]

Indeed I did. [ The dragon will lift it's head up for a moment to see. ] Is yours some kind of weasel? [ i have no idea if theres ferrets ]

[A little.]

I think the little guy there is a ferret actually.

[remainsilent]

[ He will turn the pages in his notebook before writing the word ferret. ]

Is there a connection between you and a ferret?

[perfectpower]

I don't think so, they're just a common animal there.

[caporegrimme]

[Goodness, you have such long whiskers in your real form, Dan Heng.

Scarlet, of course, notices Dan Heng's companion]

A dragon...? I didn't think that would be possible at all.

[Seems like such a jump for the fantastical!]

[remainsilent]

[ Looking at noodle dragon, which will open up a bright teal eye to look at him in turn. ]

As you see, it is possible. [ He isn't sure what else to say about that. ]

[caporegrimme]

I thought it was limited to small, kind of adorable animals...

[Ah, so that's it: the sight of Dan Geng's dragon kind of makes Scarlet disappointed of his own daemon. Speaking of, Scarlet's doesn't seem to be out? He seems to be alone]

[remainsilent]

[ Is his noodle not adorable?

Though Dan Heng doesn't have a strong opinion one way or another ]

Is that the case with yours? [ Looking around. Small critter where? ]

[Dragons automatically fall on the 'cool' end of the spectrum!]

It is. I'm not sure yet how to feel about it.

[As if on cue, from within Scarlet's hood, a little red songbird pokes its head out, tilting it like trying to figure out what the hubbub is all about]

[ It's not hard to spot Dan Heng when he's got a dragon coiled near him. It catches G'raha's eye, but what draws him closer is curiosity over whatever the man is writing down. ]

Keeping records?

[ A creature follows G'raha shortly behind him, tiptapping on the floor. ]

[remainsilent]

[ He will give a nod in greeting. ]

Indeed, I am. I am a record keeper for the Astral Express, so I'm used to writing everything down.

[ Looking over at creature. ]

I don't think I've encountered anything like your companion here.

[allrounder]

A carbuncle. They're often companions for Arcanists, created by aether through arcane geometry. My studies are largely focused on ancient arcane magic, so I am not surprised that this was my companion.

[ And the carbuncle looks around curiously, tilting its little head at the dragon.

He takes a seat near Dan Heng. ]

I thought of recordkeeping myself, but have decided to keep much of it in my mind rather than on paper.

[remainsilent]

I have heard of aether, I haven't heard of it being used to create companions.

[ The dragon will uncoil itself to greet the carbuncle ]

I've developed a habit of writing everyone down first thing in the morning. It keeps the adventures fresh, while also making sure I do not forget anything.
