TRIAL IV

Trial

Another Saturday, but this Saturday is your last Saturday. If everything holds, if everything works out. After all you've been through, are you capable of being an optimist? The carnival calls regardless, furniture arranged around as they always are with banquet table and pit in the middle.

This week's new offerings are: a fluffy loaf of a certain type of rye bread, a hearty beef stew and an assortment of fresh pies with candied fruit and cream.

For the last time, find out who killed two of your own: G'raha Tia and Sariel.

(( OOC: Welcome to your first trial! You'll have 7 hours (until 8 PM EDT/5 PM PDT) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. As this is scapegoat style, a correct vote is not necessary. Please remember to vote unless otherwise discussed with the mods, as that is our AC for this game ))

It was back on my person. Did they think me the sort of dilettante who never checks the state of his own weapon? Did they think I'd just mindlessly present it at the 'carnival' without noticing?

[ DID THEY THINK HE'S DUMB AS SHIT???? ]

Right? It's just disrespectful. You don't seem like the type to not check shit.

Thank you. I'm a soldier, after all.

[ And whatever else you people may know about his past no longer has bearing. ]

[Has Angelo been wearing an ammo pouch or something like that, incidentally?]

Doesn't that mean that it was someone who knew where you were staying that night?

[ He's been keeping bullets in his pant pockets like a heathen..... which I didn't mention in previous trials due to the fact that I didn't know how pistols work. Help me. ]

I didn't know I'd be staying there that night - I was too slow to leave and got caught up in the barrier. They'd have had to look for me... or they were staying in the same room and took advantage.

[it's okay, i'm crying i almost asked if he was keeping them in his pockets... but then i was like there's no way he'd let gunpowder stain his pants, i'm a fool

Anyway, he thinks.]

I heard they broke the barricade in front of the door. If someone didn't know where you were staying, then perhaps they were targeting someone else?

[ TBH YOU RIGHT... things I should have thought about weeks ago but didn't because I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW A REVOLVER ISN'T A PISTOL. ]

There's an annoying amount of options here.

G'raha and Sariel were also both in the tea room and have to have left at some point. The killer could either have been in the room with us, or they could have entered after they left.

[He thinks about this...]

'Tis difficult to say for certain. The state of the door out in the hall leadeth me to wonder if the assailant tore them off rather than attempt to push their way in. However, tea room furniture from the barricade did make its way out there as well...
