TRIAL IV
Trial
Another Saturday, but this Saturday is your last Saturday. If everything holds, if everything works out. After all you've been through, are you capable of being an optimist? The carnival calls regardless, furniture arranged around as they always are with banquet table and pit in the middle.
This week's new offerings are: a fluffy loaf of a certain type of rye bread, a hearty beef stew and an assortment of fresh pies with candied fruit and cream.
For the last time, find out who killed two of your own: G'raha Tia and Sariel.
(( OOC: Welcome to your first trial! You'll have 7 hours (until 8 PM EDT/5 PM PDT) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. As this is scapegoat style, a correct vote is not necessary. Please remember to vote unless otherwise discussed with the mods, as that is our AC for this game ))

[ SORRY, he is record scratching really fucking hard at this one. ]

a faint smile. )
Uh-huh. All the time. My twin, my mirror... He was foul-tempered, arrogant, prideful... if the wind so much as blew in a way that disagreed with him, he saw it fit to sink villages, rend mountains... And I was no exception. Ah, how many times had he crushed my bones, ripped my skin from my flesh... How often had he cursed me...
( He sounds so fond, so terribly nostalgic, )
... But I know he loved me, through all of that. So I didn't mind. Sometimes he was just playing, sometimes he was just angry...
( He trails off, like he means to add something here, but decided better of it. He doesn't want to distract people too much. )
... But no knife here can compare to how his talons would rend.

Hwylryn! What the hell?!

... Sorry. I didn't mean to scare anyone. But, you know, Gwawlyn was a force of nature... and nature can be like that. I think there's a raw beauty in it.
( or maybe it's stockholm and abuse. the choice... is yours! )

[ just? ]
I don't know. We'll keep this in mind for now.

... Thank you all for having your wits about you. Even though it's... really hard.
( For everyone. )

Good riddance to bad fucking rubbish. ]

Hwylryn just smiles weakly in turn, presuming the expression is, in Blade's own way, surprise or sympathy. )

To willingly... No. That's not love. That's not... Angelo would hurt himself a thousand times over for his Captain, but Captain would never demand it. It would be given freely, not... this. ]
And Balthazar....?

As he thinks, though, god he's so teary I'm losing track of his tears, he definitely teared up a Lot when talking about Gwawlyn, and he's tearing up again recalling Balthazar, though he seems to be trying to remain composed during trial. The grief is Extremely fresh - for Gwawlyn, despite his passing thousands of years ago, and Balthazar, who may as well have died moments ago for Hwylryn, and whose passing he re-experiences every Monday. )
... He tried. But he's weaker than me - I don't say this to boast or anything, though.
( lighting a candle for balthazar in the afterlife, he'd be so mad to hear hwylryn say this even though he knows it's true. northerners... )
So anything he managed to do was next to nothing in comparison.
But... if he could have managed it, I would have understood what he meant by it.
( Love! )

[ OKAY OKAY COOL COOL COOL. Just. Wrapping his head around this.
Weeks now they have spoken to each other as though they are similar, as though their grief is of the same kind, and this... He won't tell Hwylryn how to love, but he's a little freaked out by it. ]
no subject
... I didn't want him to hurt me, just to be hurt. But if that's what came of it, and I still understood he cared for me... I wouldn't have minded.
( If they played roughly, he wouldn't have minded at all. )
All that matters to me is that there's love.

How do you know he loved you?

... If someone else harmed me, he would kill them.
( That's one. )
And though he would hurt me, when I would persuade him from my death... he took on the most sour demeanor, as if he would regret my passing... as if he were shy. And he would allow me to coil with him and tease him, and he would play with me, and we would swim and soar...
( He trials off, lost in a brief reverie. )
... He was rough around the edges, and he could get a little wild, but he was full of passion. It just... came out a little sharp, is all. It was his nature, and the nature of the land.
