EPILOGUE

Your stopped time has restarted. Whether you were in the grassy field or fighting for your life on the castle grounds, you'll suddenly find yourself in an untouched area of the gardens. Ish is back, and so are the items, and the dead.

You return to Chateau Ambregris with the certain knowledge that come Monday, you will greet a new week, in a home of your own choosing. No longer will the chime of the clocks hunt you down, no longer will the oppressive scent of roses haunt your senses, no longer will you be forced to watch the death of those you've come to love and hate.

Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it?

Make merry one last time, in this castle of illusions. Ironically, your memories of this stolen time that never existed are the one thing that will truly remain to you.

🔮 There will be no cross-dimensional world travel, except for on Samhain (Witches New Year October 31st/November 1st). On these dates, Ish will enable everyone to visit each other's world freely.
🔮 Universal Communication will be possible, courtesy of Manba and Ish. Everyone who wants one will be given a small fox that can communicate with other foxes through voice and video; the foxes can talk and are fairly simple creatures, enjoy them and give them fried tofu once in a while.
🔮 Powers are on for the finale, but Ish will step in and yeet anyone who gets too out of hand back to their homeworld, so play nice! (or relatively nice. )

[ FOR MY OWN SANITY (AND LB'S)...this will be after some exchanges that sabo will need to do with ish now that he has his "body" back so that things can be back to "normal". but after all of that has been settled and squared away, sabo will be distracted by a fire that will immediately seem to take over his entire arm only for it to eventually settle into a small flame at the tip on his finger that he'll look at fondly.

the body he has been given comes with its own drawbacks and there's a lot that he has to work through but it's back. ( ▌▌▌▌) it's really back. (welcome back.) this fire... (his will.) the legacy that he carries within him. there are many things that sabo has to reflect on but he doesn't want to do it out here while others are saying their goodbyes. however, sabo's never been really great in terms of allowing himself to be around long enough to properly say goodbyes to anyone.

but he'll do his best to linger just long enough for people to get a few words in before leaving for home. (oh, and i guess for anyone who wants to attack him or try to spook him with some sort of bodily contact, they'll be met with a very surreal experience of passing right through some flames that don't seem to bother sabo in the slightest.) ]

[ as if she'll let sabo leave without giving him his hat back. ayaka's running right towards him as fast as she can. ]

Your hat!!

[ it's got some messily sewn patches on it and probably wrinkly at this point from all the movement, but she feels the need to give it back to him. no, she doesn't care if he already has another one back. it's his item. ]

[ IMAGINE IF HE DID... which tragically he would absolutely do this, but thankfully he doesn't have to because here is ayaka. ]

Oh, Ayaka!

[ he'll wave off the fire from his hand and take his hat back from her. the patch work is well... leaves much to be desired but who is sabo to complain about what ended up working? without skipping much of a beat, he'll place it back his head. ]

It's fine; you did great, and I'm sure I can find someone who can fix the parts that you weren't exactly skilled to handle.

[ It does not take long for Richard to find Sabo. Whether he's got the hat or Ayaka returned it, it doesn't matter. The man's more important at this point, anyway. ]

Your assistance was very much appreciated back there. It was a little closer than I'd have liked it to be.

We did have a scare a few times, didn't we? But it also might have been too boring if there was no challenge to it.

I agree. After all this time, easily felling two opponents would've been nothing short of anticlimactic.

Perhaps, there might be another time where we can find ourselves in a situation where we'd be allowed to simply fight side-by-side without any special conditions or circumstances.

[ As far as Richard knows, that's probably not likely – he's a Servant, after all. Once his role in the Grail War is done, won or not, he's to go back to the Throne. And since Heroic Spirits generally don't any past memories if they're even summoned again... ]

[ once things have settled down, he will be leaving cloud-piercer with blade as he comes over to sabo. ]

Hi, seems like you've finally found me.

[ sabo will greet him with a bit of a wave despite fully aware of the circumstances and what's to come.

honestly, it was only a matter of time and definitely for the better that dan heng greet him instead of immediately attack him. the idea of having to think about how his abilities would react to hsr stuff is too much of a headache. ]

[ me looking at chat like is sabo pregnant ]

Indeed, I have. I wanted to make sure you were in one piece before I deliver on my promise.

[ sabo will pat himself on the chest and make a considerable conscious effort to not turn into flames the moment that dan heng comes at him. ]

[ he will give a nod and decide that words are no longer needed. his gaze will go icy for a moment, while he brings his fist back. Dan Heng will pivot as he aims a punch straight for his chest with his full strength ]

[ this has been simmering, for a bit, but it's not judgmental. you would need personal investment, for it to be that.

homura's just tired. she speaks like everything's already certain. this is a question that's been brewing since the beginning of the week. ]

That wish of yours, the one you said you don't regret. [ a wish made for someone else. ] Would you recant your wish, Sabo? Would you have worded it in a different way, knowing what you do now, taken it back and wanted for something else?

Or would you stand by it until the end?

[ even if she were being judgmental, sabo would have excused her. still he greets her with a small smile as he thinks over her questions. honestly thinks them through because, well, boy did he have a moment when norna showed her face.

[ he says with a laugh and a nod. ]

Maybe I would have worded things differently, but I try not to have regrets. [ because there's already one regret that he has that eats him alive whenever he allows his guard to drop for any moment. his tone is not judgmental or accusatory as he continues to speak. simply casual and amicable. ] You've had the opportunity to go back and "redo" things and see whether they'll make a difference or not but that's not something that I'm able to do.

If I live with regrets then that means I'm disgracing the will that's been left to me.

My ability to go back has no relation to whether I regret the wish I made. I will never regret it, myself.

[ everything she did, she did for Madoka. that's enough to make it all worth it, even if ultimately... ]

I asked simply because I've seen the outcome of hastily made, poorly thought out, or essentially coerced wishes far too many times. They regret paying the price they did. They resent the people they made their wishes for. They become self-destructive, guilty, blaming themselves for not making the wish that could have saved their loved ones alongside themselves, if only they'd had the forethought to think of it while they themselves were dying.

It is a familiar pattern, wishes turning to poison once made— even if you assume the best of intentions from all involved.

[ but if he says he can't afford to regret— good for him. neither can she. ]

Ah, it looks like I might have misspoke. I didn't mean to imply that you felt regret or anything like that—it's just that I don't have the same experience with these sort of things as you do.

I was only able to act upon the experiences that I know, but I understand your concern...or perhaps, interest. If you don't believe anything else that I say then just believe that my life isn't something that I would throw away on a whim.

If I'm going to die then it will be because of something that would have been worth it.

[ saving a comrade. saving a bunch of strangers. protecting the very principles that he stands for. ]

Though, things being what they are...it feels strange to not at least make one final approach where Sabo is concerned.

When the man is lingering, Blade makes his approach - though, he doesn't see fit to come from behind, when walking into view from the front would suit him far better. ]

[ It doesn't seem like it. It seems like the returnees have come back to their own original bodies - and everything has gone off without a hitch. Still, he asks nonetheless. ]

[ as blade approaches, sabo will quick to wave the fire from his hand while flashing him a smile. oh boy, will blade be the first one who he actually tells this to? ]

Not quite off but I suddenly have an "affliction" that I didn't think I'd have to worry about. [ hope that blade can hear the air quotes in sabo's voice. ] Something that some people go to great lengths to obtain.

[ so funny to be talking to blade about this of all things. how being effectively immortal absolutely sucks. ]

Ah...yes, most people would essentially practically kill for the reward of being immortal. No pun intended. ]

That lowers down the possibilities. Though not entirely. Everyone who had originally passed seems to have the same affliction, then?

[ A smiling or bright face does not guarantee contentment about one's stare of being; though it might be a sign of acceptance. Of some sort.
