WEEK ONE
WEEK ONE
32 Guests
Maybe being swept away to a fancy castle isn't what you wanted (Hickey aside), but the fact of the matter is that you're stuck here, at least for now. Thankfully there's enough food even if hot chocolate for breakfast might be a bit rich for some palates. There's at least a stock of raw food in the kitchens, but your hapless kidnapper is a Witch, not a chef, so you'll have to perform your own, manual kitchen magic if the provided meals aren't to your liking.
Just try not to burn the place down before you get the chance to take your host at his word (that you'll be leaving in a week's time, certainly, trust).
If you do get the cabin fever immediately, the grounds are a beautiful reprieve from the great indoors -- and if nothing else, perhaps you can find time to get to know your fellow guests. The weather is gorgeous all week, cheerfully sunny, which lends something to the mood.
WEEKLY EFFECT
This week, characters will feel heightened emotions periodically. If they're very happy about something, it'll feel like the best thing in the world! If they'd usually brush off something mildly annoying, suddenly it'll grate on their nerves. This effect will last throughout the week until investigation and is completely optional.

[ Blade has been mostly keeping to himself as he is wont to do - hard to find, hard to interact with, or simply hard to deal with.
He be found with ease today, at the start of the week. He's inspecting the craftsmanship of the ornamental weapons in the mars room. He seems excited; enthused in the way he runs his fingers over the items. Yet, his expression doesn't change. ]
...There should be more.
[ Though surprisingly, that is his only comment. Excitement does not enhance absence of wordiness, apparently. ]
ii. stars;
[ Blade is in the observatory, for the rest of the afternoon until early evening. He's actually putting the place to use, it seems, peering through the telescope. ]
...It's beautiful.
[ Though emotion rarely comes from him at times beyond particular situations, it's heard from him now. He doesn't mean to say it, but he is a little more compelled to; maybe because the sky looks so different. Yet, he doesn't usually hold much interest in things. ]
iii. garden of lies;
[ Maybe you think you're alone in the garden late at night. It's silent, calm. But, something else is there.
Or perhaps someone. Yet, nothing is being said. Try to find out who it is? ]
iv. wildcard;
[ The world is your oyster. ]
ii
'Tis indeed. [He replies to Blade's remark.] Though its celestial bodies differ from that of my home, 'tis heartening to find the familiar comfort of a beautiful night sky filled with stars.
no subject
No similarities here, either.
[ Blade doesn't think he oft watched celestial bodies even in the past, which is good that he hasn't, in retrospect. Instead, he can be kind of distracted by these stars and the constellations, in a strangely good mood to find joy in the small things. ]
...I never looked at it much. Not before. I was too busy traversing through the stars.
no subject
Verily? Art thou a regular traveler of the cosmos?
no subject
[ A little more forthcoming than Blade would normally be this week, but good mood vibes all around ensure a bit more of that even if he is lacking in conversation skills; he does finally look from away the telescope to cast a gaze on Urianger.
Who is apparently a giant. Alright, then. He is used to seeing alien species at the very least. ]
...You hold a deep interest in the stars. Is it really only incidental?

iii.
During the day, the place is lively with the sounds of all manner of little creatures - though no humans save the rest of them. At night, it's... a bit too quiet, even for the evening bugs. Andrew lifts her head.]
... Even mice should be sleeping at this hour. Is someone there?
no subject
Or rather...
Through the bushes emerges suddenly one black-haired man without much warning. ]
Someone is here.
[ And, apparently, in good spirits at the suddenness of his arrival. ]
no subject
When Blade emerges from the bushes, her hand jumps to her chest. Though her intake of breath is sharp and narrow, she doesn't get up from her seat by the fountain.]
That's a good trick. Don't you think it's a little late to be sneaking around like that?
no subject
Then, he crosses his arms. ]
I've been awake for far longer before. Until the sun rises, and dawn breaks.
[ He muses, as if he was talking in a state of normalcy - which, for him, it sadly is. ]
I was appreciating the garden.
[ ...And then something nonsensical came out of it. What else is Blade to do with this peppy energy? ]

More...stabbiness? Explodiness? Weightiness? ...I'd vote for detailedness.
no subject
[ Essentially, 'more stabbiness'. ]
But, granting more details should also be a priority. There is much lacking in the craftsmanship.
Somehow, it doesn't seem realistic to have a room like this with so many useless weapons.
[ Or perhaps Blade is just judging it for the lack of perceived in effort in making them all dangerous. ]
no subject
I guess whoever set up this place was trying to go for room aesthetics over everything? Must've cost a pretty penny just to have these many weapons here. Maybe they ran outta budget.
no subject
Though, all in all, his observations don't exactly indicate a sense of disappointment, per say. Only that he is in the state of mind to make them, when he might not normally care. ]
It must have.
Even if there is some use to them. Or, there is something else purposeful about how they are made to appear.

II
[Scarlet feels a curiously strong sense of longing at the thought of looking at the stars. He can appreciate the nice simple things sometimes!]
no subject
[ Blade isn't normally that level of optimistic, but he is feeling it as he looks through the telescope. Good mood breeds lighter thoughts.
For the moment. ]
no subject
[He's so skeptical about anything related to the dear ol' NPC. Scarlet does diplomacy, generally speaking, but with the current situation he doesn't want to hurry up and get in touch without figuring them out a little more.
okay no it is more like i was going to but then my computer metaphorically exploded so i was unable to]
no subject
[ Maybe? But Blade doesn't think for something like this a favor must be inquired of. Rather, instead of that... ]
It should be done without asking a favor.
[ ... ]
Do you think it impossible?

iii
β¦ Whoβs there?
no subject
One might assume that the sudden appearance may be from one of the bushes...
...Emerging from behind one of the single statue fountains off to the side is a certain tall, black-haired man, suddenly and silently. ]
I am here.
[ Self-explanatory. ]
no subject
[ placing this guy in the dark takes him a moment, but he remembers most of the plaques. just not... all of the finer details. ]
Blade, right? You're the one who likes to... die? And. Mm... Live.
cw: suicidal ideation-adjacent
But with the other laying out the subjects so clear, there is no way to dance around it. It isn't like he cares to; he just doesn't always see the reason to mention it. ]
You're right about those - except for the last.
[ Except given the effect of this week, he is more flippant about it in a different way - even if it's hard to tell. Good mood and all. ]

He glances over at Blade's comment, epΓ©e in hand. ]
Not satisfied with the choices?
no subject
What is to be done about it, though? And to think, there's nothing like the kind of weaponry he is more used to. He just really isn't so endeared to the flashy craftsmanship as a whole, either. ]
No. Not entirely.
...Are you?
no subject
They seem to be acceptable. I've no problems with making the most of what I have available, and they seem to be fairly decent as far as build is concerned.
[ They're certainly no Rhongomyniad or Caliburn, but he'll take it. ]
no subject
[ Blade takes up a sword and carefully swings it, testing its weight. Even if ornamental at least it does seem to hold up and isn't just for looking pretty, though... ]
...I prefer my usual weapon.
[ Even in the state that it is, the craftsmanship can't really be beat. ]
